Torres dive

I'm watching it on my iPod touch, and it is frame by frame. I zoomed up and there is definetely a knee on foot collision. It wasn't a red though.

The Dutch commentator said of the incident: "It was a right decision to give him a red card, as Torres isn't the player to take a dive. Fcuking moron!

* The above of course translated from Dutch into English.*

Did he retract it later?

If not send him that avi. file.

He better after seeing that.

I have no idea what the hell people here are talking about. Torres was clipped by the Chilean defender, the player himself stumbles slightly at the same moment because of the contact. Torres's right leg is touched while he's running at full pelt, which causes it to hit his standing leg as it comes around. It's not a dive.

The sending off was a complete idiocy, but to say that it was a deliberate ploy is purely based in what people want to see because he's a RS.

 Are you serious?

Torres looking Ronaldoish. what a tosser. I hate this part of these guys games they don't need to do this it prostitute themselves to the World.
Respect zilch.

There is contact, but to me its the way he throws himself to he ground when the contact is made. He sort of jumps and twists in the air to make it look like he has been kicked, and then stays down for a couple of minutes although he is clearly not hurt to make the 'incident' look more serious and get the player sent off.

You can slow it down by making the image bigger. There appears to be contact. The guy was looking away from Torres, and his reaction suggests contact.
It's been a long time since I played football, but my normal reaction to being clipped was to prepare for the fall. It looks like Torres made a meal of it there, clipped or not. Tough one to call.

Did they find the bullet?

definitely was clipped, shouldn't have been a yellow (believe it was his second, thats why he went off)

just accidental contact

When I first saw it, I thought he brushed his back leg which caused him to trip up.

Either way, he shouldn't have embellished it.

How long did he stay down for?
And did you catch Pique brandishing the pretend card to the ref?
Looks like Torres has got his acting badges ready for a move to Barca. "Birds of a scummy feather..."

Hard to call and in the heat of the moment...I's say its definately a dive because any touch and players go down nowadays.

Highlights of the cheating so far have been

Tiago in Portugal/Brazil...massive massive dive in the box and he cops a yellow. Cheater.

Quagliarella in Italy/Slovakia... Trying to get ball back off Mucha whose lying in the corner of the net after conceding, Quag-cheater flies back clutching at his face probably after being breathed on.

Absolutely correct. But dreadful as this type of shitbag cheating is, don't go calling Torres nasty names unless you're also prepared to do the same to Yakubu.

Defo wasn't a dive. Nor a sending off.

There are usually one of two tell-tale signs for a dive:

1. The player goes down too quickly, as though both legs have suddenly lost all feeling (like a skyscraper being demolished by explosives!)

2. The player leaps into the air slightly just before he goes down, usually doing a dying swan twist, often with arms in the air.

Hmmm. Delete where applicable.
