Ronald Koeman discussion

If we managed by some miracle to beat Arsenal we would only be 2pts behind them :o

Also if the RS and Chelsea lost we would only be 2pts behind them as well (if we won).

That's really quite incredible...

Conversely if we lose (most likely) and the RS and Chelsea won we would be 8pts behind with 9 games played.

I feel that this could be the defining game of Koemans Everton career...

Well, you look at Kante (as an example) and he can pass too...Gana (albeit recently) seems to make such bizarre passes into no mans land.

I like Gana for his energy and Schneiderlin was decent 'sitting' last season but I'm beginning to wonder if they aren't both 'mid-table' quality.

I'm wondering if we shouldn't go for a Vieira/Keane type box to box powerhouse who could take it in turns with Davies to go forward...maybe do away with the defensive midfielder and have 2 box to box types.

I used to be a massive fan of William Carvalho but I think he may be a bit slow to play in our league, Dendoncker has played in a few roles for Anderlecht but primarily a defensive midfielder with a bit of nous.

But perhaps its time we went for box to box players in the centre...

I think Gueye is cracking player and his "poor passing" is very overstated.

He has shown before that he has got a pass in him and actually takes up good positions further forward. He does do the odd random "what the hell was that?" style pass but every player does that.

I think the problem is more to do with the team as a whole. Nobody moves, like ever. Everyone seems to hide from the ball or just stands around waiting for a pass. The players who seem to be struggling the most this season are the two centre mids and the centre backs. Now Ok Williams is rubbish generally these days but Keane is a good defender who uses the ball well. Yet he has made loads of basic errors this season passing wise/getting caught in position because there is nobody making themselves available. You could put Pirlo in his prime in there and he would struggle due to the lack of movement.

May I ask why? I'm not necessarily in the right but I'd like to hear your counter comments if you would. It's interesting to get the opposite point of view in situations like this, as normally people look at it in black or white. I'm sure there may be middle ground which might give us a more telling perspective.

I still think he has the look of a beaten man, at least he could show a look like he is fighting for his job. I am not comfortable with him seemingly thinking he is untouchable or even worse just not even bothered.

I think not mate, I posted much on my opinion today and am less inclined to go to any effort for someone who starts a conversation describing said opinion as utter tosh, I tend to treat as I find.

I dont think the problem is the quality of player we have or the tactics.

If we hadnt hadnt of sold Lukaku, or had we signed Jesus, Morata, Laczette we wouldnt want Koeman out, we would be winning games.

Do not think so, mate but we will never know. We are still in a terrible state and the responsibility lies with Koeman, end of.

The club have a hierarchical structure of recruitment they failed to land the key target, the priority position that needed strengthening. Obviously they were was plan in place that Rooney and Sigurdsonn support a frontman. We know the best way to score set peices in the PL is set peices. Thus we bought two players in the PL who have consistently provided double figures in goals and assists playing of a striker, the plan made sense the gaping hole is the striker. Now we are asking both to be the cutting edge. The players havent become bad players, Koeman hasnt become a bad manager. The club messed up the plan. The players and manager are now scape goats.

Its really simple the club has made its worst decsionin likely our PL history, what did people expect to happen when we didnt sign an established striker and where does the failure lie?

HHMM, set pieces?? tell that to Man City they must be doing something wrong.

To be honest mate, I think the fault lies within the club hierarchy who ever is the deal broker, two windows now that were well resourced and an abject inability to secure targets. Ultimately leaving this squad without an established striker has completely ruined the season and undermined 140 mill of other investment.

It's gross misconduct, for my money there is a problem, but the root cause doesn't lie with the first team.coach.

That's fine, it was tosh but I was hoping you could explain why you think i'm wrong. I deduce that you know what your writing is a straw man argument. Never mind, I won't lose any sleep over it. Goodbye friend, sorry for wasting your time.

Really look at his record with Valencia, Alkammar and Saints.

A reliable poster on TPF is saying he has heard Moyes caretaker until the end of the season ? Couldn't stand him but I'd rather that then move Unsworth
