Ronald Koeman discussion

Sure, if you are after another clueless rant about Wayne Rooney and the complete absolving of DCL, a player with 1 goal in 16 games. BUT HE HAS TO PLAY ON THE WING BOO HOO HOO

Actually, where have I seen that before?
Many players have struggled through a couple of seasons at an early age before kicking on.

Dcl is our only target man option and I personally think he looks decent. His goals will come if he keeps getting into good positions.

Playing him on the wing isn't his strength though.

I applaud Rooney for taking a boss penalty when it mattered. But his performance overall was abject.

DCL is like an ex boy-band member who has gotten to the final of a footballing reality show and landed a little contract through doing so... all the signs were that he cudda made it - once - and he still has some ability now...but it'll all end the way his singing career did in that people will realise that he couldn't do that very well either...

And he'll get shipped.

He'll do OK in PONTINS mind (AKA PNE / Bury etc)

Anyway, back on topic - we're crap and Ron's a tangerine teat.

:bye:

Mate Kenwright still didn't want to sack Martinez! That's part of the problem right there, no ambition & it doesn't look like Moshiri has much either.

It certainly looks that way doesn't it. Me and @Khalekan we're saying after that derby drubbing before the semi Final against the mancs to get rid of Martinez to give us half a chance of getting a win and we didn't. We are currently in the same kind of territory right now because this fella is proving game after game that Everton football club is far too big a job for him, in fact he's making a good case for himself that he actually doesn't seem to know anything aboit management, tactics, putting players in correct positions and actually picking players who deserve to be picked and booting the ones into touch who deserve to be.

In about 10 days time we could be looking back on basicslly being on the brink of EL elimination, in the bottom 3 and out the league cup.

He's finished with the fans imo, no one can tolerate the absolute woeful excuse for football Everton have served up so the sooner he's gone the better for all concerned.

We'll soon find out if Moshiri is just another soft touch like Kenwright

DCL looks decent? By what metric?

He doesn't score goals.

He barely assists goals.

He can't hold the ball up.

Defences can play a very high line because they don't have to worry about him.

Thing is , he isn't good enough, and that's fine, as it is dreadful squad building and management that has left us marooned with just him up front.

Fortunately Rooney is saving the day at the moment but paradoxically, he is unfortunately saving Koeman.

Perhaps that's why you all ridiculously hate him so much, so maybe I can begin to understand it. But blaming Rooney is like passive aggressively kicking a chair in front on a plane because someone has put their seat back; it's wrong, misdirected and shows people don't have the nuts to address the real issues , which is Koeman.

So quick away at that seat in front like they kick off about Rooney. It just makes them look daft.

This season, he's got 3 league goals in 8 games. We've needed him to pull us out of the fire again, didn't see that little Sniveller Baines taking any responsibility for the penalty again did we? Nope, we had Wayne, who if he missed would have had negative headlines galore, more scrutiny than any other player, and the boo boy biffs giving him it large, taking the ball for the penalty in the dying parts of a match we seriously couldn't afford to lose.

Baines wasn't even on the pitch when we won the penalty.

Lyon 3-5-2

Pickford
Holgate
Keane
Jagelka
Gueye
Davies
Sigurdsson
Mirallas
Vlasic
Rooney
Calvert Lewis

Easy 3-0 win and Ron saves his job

Completely agree mate, I thought Martinez should've been sacked before the derby. All this bollocks about giving him the chance in the semi-final was a joke. Still convinced Unsworth would've won us the FA cup. An ambitious club would sack him before the Lyon game and give Unsworth a chance to keep us in the Europa. My opinion is that Moshiri is just interested in staying in the Premiership hence his appointment of Koeman. An ambitious club wouldn't have appointed him in the first place given his record.

Dcl has 2 goals in League cup, and 2 assists in the prem.

Rooney has 3 goals in prem, 1 Europa goal and 0 assists in all comps.

By that metre, he is doing alright.

Oh G-d, how long is this crap going to continue? He should be worried about his job, but he isn't. I hope he steps on a lego. Also he looks like a tramp.
I hate him more than Martinez. At least he wasn't fat.
To be fair, Neville Southall is awesome and he's a fat mother as well. Always has been. Even Kevin Pressman is thinner than him these days.

Bob at least seemed like someone I'd want to hang out with, and he did a lot of EITC stuff and goofy stuff like the Christmas videos and was willing to laugh at himself and engage with the non-football side (and he even went to meet the Ruleteros). Koeman just comes across as a massive unlikeable tool.

And no, I don't think Martinez was an amazing manager either, before anyone says so.

A huge concern today was the manner of Niasse's introduction.
If you were Koeman you'd have surely battered into him that we needed channels runs, to give those CBs something to worry about.
Nah, he just came on and made one single run. The rest of the time he just added to the movement-less mess in the middle of the pitch.

So Teflon-Bambi has 2 assists, 0 goals in 8 premier league games.

Yeah, definitely doing alright isn't he?

Got two goals at home to Sunderland. Cor. Oh fair play, he's also got that goal away at the Slovakian lads, they are probably a tier below Sunderland in terms of quality but let's be honest, we are desperate.

Totally disagree. Some very good players in that squad. Lacking in a couple of key areas, yes, but are you seriously saying this lot shouldn’t be beating Burnley, Brighton, Atalanta, Hajuck Split or those Cypriot part timers?

We clearly lack spirit & belief. That’s down to Management.
I agree with the management change but with Lukaku gone nobody replaced him. I don't care who you get to dictate game management my main worry who scores for us even if you get Davies and Lookman to start which we is what we all want. Who finishes so we can claim some three pointers. Confidence is totally absent at the minute. When I saw Siggy take that free kick today I knew we are not as good as we thought we were. Round pegs square holes. I can't see Koeman lasting until Christmas.

My main thought is that I'm glad I couldn't go with my son to the match because of family stuff, and I don't envy his journey back.
On Koeman, he has now without doubt lost the overwhelming majority of the fans, and understandably so , he is currently failing. I fully understand people wanting him gone.
Personally I still would prefer him to be given more time. He is definitely a better manager than he is currently showing. I think he has been too ambitious in the amount of players he is trying to integrate and was definitely let down by the club in not securing the two players he wanted.
In the end it's now a question of how long the board hold their nerve. Presently I think he will get until Dec. at least to pull out of this nosedive.

I think you're being a bit too kind to him there by describing him as being " too ambitious " in trying to integrate a load of players into the team.

Another way to describe it, is that he's completely and utterly F'kd up by bringing in the same type of player for one position and bringing in sh'te in other areas.

That's down to him mate, maybe Walsh too.

We've now got two games on the spin, which everyone is expecting us to lose.

If this happens, I can't see him lasting past those two tbh.

Only my opinion mate x
