Bit harsh on me that Bryan !!

I believe you're right mate, but I have to disagree with the bold bit.

He was under contract with us for another season, a contract he'd been all too happy to sign when he wasn't sure he'd get a better offer. The club should absolutely not have felt obligated to let him leave. Personally I just don't get the idea that Lukaku, Stones etc who have left to better themselves and in turn earned the club enormous amounts of money are snakes who should be hounded, but someone who buggered off for free and left us in the lurch at the first opportunity is a model pro who we should all admire and thank for honouring us with his presence.

Klaassen is still not winning me over, and I have yet to see anything whatsoever to suggest he was worth anything like what we've paid for him. There's still time for obviously, but it would be nice just to see hints of some promise rather than the listless performances he's produced thus far.

...I wouldn’t know the detail of the contract but I imagine Barry and the club had discussed this scenario over the past 18months or so and agreed a release if the situation arose. Discussions go on around contracts all the time and the two parties will have built up a good working relationship because of it.

I've read this and it is well thought out and makes a lot of sense.

Klaassen is utterly terrible and we can be certain of this since August 2017
Yep, it's now at the point where the comparisons made with Naismith seem really harsh on Naismith. The lad vanishes after starting every game quite brightly.

Don't see how he's getting in this side anytime soon. Even though we are poor he's already down the pecking order. £23 million? Christ.

I'd genuinely move him on in January. Everything we've seen until now tells us it isn't going to happen for him here. There's too many new players to persist with giving him chances.

Slightly trigger happy there aren't we. He's not played that many games, give him chance, can't pass on a £25m player after 6 months.

I actually don't mind him, but all the things we are lacking - players who run with the ball, pace, height, width. None of it is him.

I'm usually always willing to give players/managers time to settle in but I just can't see how this lad even gets game time at the moment.

We've brought so many players in that it was inevitable some wouldn't work out.

Very true mate and that's a big issue. You ask anyone now who needs to be brought into the middle and we'd all say Davies in a heartbeat. So that imo currently makes him 4th choice.....a very very expensive 4th choice
