Ross Barkley

I agree... have mentioned before I would leave him training with niasse .... we will lose the fee anyway and he isn't very good so the only person that has something to lose is ross... I would take a year of his career from him ...

Amazing and hilarious.

You don't think getting 50m for Barkley would be amazing business ? Would also amaze me if he actually signed for them... it's cl club or arsenal IMO or he will run his contract down .
I think that's it's hilarious that he could conceivably end up at the Hammers to get game time

Not going to happen. Either sign or get sold. Koeman had made that clearly.

He won't be leaving us to join a non champions league team.
Back in the day Koeman stated (before all this hubbub) that Ross wants to play in the champions league....NOTHING to do with not getting the game time here. He wants to play at the top level, If we can offer that going forward...He will stay, If not he will go to Spurs. Big shame imo.
I get waves of anger towards him but none can doubt on his day...Match winner.

Unless Spurs are selling Ali or Eriksen, how does Barkley get into that team?....
Young lad, likely to back himself, thinking maybe his chance will come, especially if one of them move. Very few of these guys stay around for ever. All on the merry go round.
But I am speculating and do not pretend to be on the money.......except I do think these lads know it helps to be in certain teams rather than others when England come calling.

I could see Arsenal making a bid for him, he seems like their type of player, and with him being young English (they have a lot of foreign players) and highly rated (at some point), a possession based team like them would feel they could get the best of them.

They need some big money signings this summer to appease fans, and are being linked with some big money moves, but also know they have no champions league football this year, so will be a blow to attracting the really big names.

Also Barkley has had some of his best performances against them, which always leaves a mark.

The fact we have been linked with a few of their squad players as well (Chambers, Giroud, Gibbs, Perez) could see any of them used as potential bargaining chips.

Just an opinion like, I have no Insider knowledge.

That's doesn't mean spurs don't want to sign him. Chelsea won the league as Willian & fabregas are the best 12th & 13th players in the league they would
start in almost every other team in the league.

Ross clearly isn't as good as Willian or fabregas however spurs have tried numerous times to attract players in this bracket & never really managed to get one over the line.

So what do they do? they are targetting the most creative players in the league from the teams below them Barkley & zaha. No way do they go back
For siggurdsson as he is too old for them now & most effective from set peices when they already have Erickson.

I'm struggling to see why so many people are shocked. from there perspective it's an absolute no brainier particularly as they will be getting him at far below market value.

They're not really shocked mate. It's a faux surprise act they're putting on because they know he's our best player and he's leaving....ergo "eeez craaaaaap lad! Why wud any top teem want him?!"
