Ross Barkley

Unless Spurs are selling Ali or Eriksen, how does Barkley get into that team?....

I get that players think they'll always get in but to think in his head he's got to fight to get into Everton but he'll find it different at Spurs is something I struggle to get my head round .

Not just the above though , the kind of wages I've seen mentioned would put him on more than alli , Eriksen and possibly even Kane which would seem madness from them if they did that.

The Metro reckon he's told the club that he wants to leave:

Ross Barkley has informed Everton that he wants to leave this summer, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has just a year remaining on his current contract and Ronald Koeman has already warned that the midfielder will be sold if he refuses to commit to a new deal.

The S*n now claims the signing of Davy Klaassen will push Barkley into seeking an exit as his chances of securing regular football are now limited following the attacking midfielder’s arrival from Ajax.

It’s reported that Barkley is concerned about losing his place in England’s side ahead of next year’s World Cup and will now look for a new club which will guarantee him more playing time.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and, most recently, Chelsea have all been linked with the midfielder but The Sun claims that Barkley will also attract interest from clubs further down the table.

Earlier this week, reports claimed that Tottenham had pulled out of the race to sign Barkley due to Dele Alli’s impressive performances.

Everton are reportedly commanding a £50 million transfer fee for Barkley but clubs will be looking to drive that price down given that he could leave for free next summer.

That'd be a sad end to this saga.
SAD! mate - 50 million for a mid 20's english midfielderwingerstriker thats not anywhere near the national squad is the best $$ we will ever make. To be mid 20s and still not know what position you play really says something for me. IF he stays, and he stays on the condition he signs a new deal with no release clause, I would like to see ronald punt on him up front. His decision making is his worst trait - but he does have a powerful shot on both feet. I feel he crumbles when he gets told to play a certain structured way, but when you let him off the leash his potential shows. Play him upfront alongside a pacey striker and he might start to progress... but unfortunately I can see the lad playing at celtic with scotty boy in a few years!!!

Think those were the first to run that story, with the others following suit

Yeah I only noticed that after I posted it.

They're going with the 'more game time' angle which I find hard to believe as he'd need to go to someone like Southampton (who couldn't afford him) or West Ham to get that.

One of the CL sides will take a gamble on him IMO. If they were prepared to pay 30m for Sissoko then this is a no brainer.

We're not getting £50M for Ross - we'll be lucky to get half of that.
