Ross Barkley

One of the CL sides will take a gamble on him IMO. If they were prepared to pay 30m for Sissoko then this is a no brainer.

So, he (apparently) wants to leave to get more game time, and you think he'll move to a CL side (where he won't be guaranteed 1st team football)?

SAD! mate - 50 million for a mid 20's english midfielderwingerstriker thats not anywhere near the national squad is the best $$ we will ever make. To be mid 20s and still not know what position you play really says something for me. IF he stays, and he stays on the condition he signs a new deal with no release clause, I would like to see ronald punt on him up front. His decision making is his worst trait - but he does have a powerful shot on both feet. I feel he crumbles when he gets told to play a certain structured way, but when you let him off the leash his potential shows. Play him upfront alongside a pacey striker and he might start to progress... but unfortunately I can see the lad playing at celtic with scotty boy in a few years!!!
Pragmatism says your right. But it's still sad to see a kid like Ross leave, having not fulfilled his potential with us.

A ruthless winning Everton should sell and replace with better.

I think people forget sissoko was signed on the back of some top quality performances for France in the euro championships,Everton were also prepared to pay top dollar for him,you can't compare the 2,Barkley seems still to be potential!

You don't think getting 50m for Barkley would be amazing business ? Would also amaze me if he actually signed for them... it's cl club or arsenal IMO or he will run his contract down .
if he runs his contract down he won't go to the world cup as he won't play at all for us.

Not kidding when I say if he does that, and if we have any integrity as a football club, he has played his last senior game at Everton.

I know that.... I don't think he's going to the World Cup anyway mate... don't see how playing badly for westham or sitting on Spurs bench is going to change that. Think he's using the WC as an excuse to the fans for wanting to leave tbh.... he just doesn't have what it takes to work with koeman

I agree... have mentioned before I would leave him training with niasse .... we will lose the fee anyway and he isn't very good so the only person that has something to lose is ross... I would take a year of his career from him ...

To be honest I think Ross wants to leave chiefly because he realises that RK has serious reservations about him.

Of course the story has to be spun about ambitions relating to international career and CL ambitions, but I think they are just that...stories.

RK dropped Barkley on two or three occasions during the season and that is not something you do with a player you really trust.

I really would not be surprised to see Ross leave for a team lower than us in the league where the signing of Barkley would be a huge coup and he would play every week.
Would he get a game every week in the teams that finished ahead of us last season ?
