The London Stadium was NOT purpose built for Togger.

BMD will be.

Correct because the the fans were essentially lied to. I am sure they were told there would be sliding rail seating in the first tier which would give them good proximity to the pitch but they could not achieve it and ended up with a load of scaffolding.

Now don't get be wrong I don't think for one second this will be as bad as the London stadium but it is disappointing. We have a good location and I thought we had a blank sheet of paper with a solid budget to build our optimal football stadium. it is now become clear as to how we got the financing arrangement that we did.

I await with eagerness to see the video presentation showing how this will work. What we know is that the installation and removal will all take place in the summer so there will not be significant building work. It is hard to see how they can get the end stands close to the pitch unless there is going to be some ground breaking techology with movable stands which seem very unlikely considering our budget.

It is clear that the capacity will be heavily reduced in athletics mode which explains why Anfield will host the opening ceromonynbut we are struggling to get the maths to add up in terms of how it is possible to maintain rake and close proximity whilst having an acceptable capacity (25k min) for the CWG.

I am interested to know what will happen now if we don't get the CWG. Will the whole deal collapse? Will the design change or is the idea that we would still be looking to be able to accomodate athletics as some point. The Liverpool bid certainly feels like it will be the sexier bid so I suspect will win.

A successful bid would certainly work out well for the RS who get the prestige of the opening ceromony and benefits of improved infrastructure whilst getting to see their rivals heads fall off.

Hate to say it but I am with Davek on this. We need to see the designs ASAP.

The Goodison pitch is 112m x 78m. A 400m track occupies an area 169m x 74m. That's before you allow for the space needed around the track.

The Comm' Games will be held in June/July 2022.

If Everton are in BMD for the 2021/22 season there's going to an awful lot of construction to be done in a very
short time after the season ends. If we aren't in by then how is the stadium going to ready and fit for Everton by August 2022?

So, unless we don't move in until the 2023/24 season it's going to be a logistic nightmare. I don't care how
expert Dan is.

Are we prepared to wait that long just to host an event that's becoming an anachronism and which few cities bid for these days.

I haven't even talked about the impact it will have on our wishes in terms of an intimate, purpose built Football Ground.

Someone has probably already said this - if three sides of a football stadium are built and the track was put in turned 90 degrees - there would be plenty of space. Then after the games - build up the 4th stand (behind the other goal)

A few people are saying 'I trust the club to do it right' or 'I trust the architect'
We have to remember though that for Moshiri if this go s through he stands to make over a hundred million. Bill I suspect will benefit to the tune of tens of millions at least with his retained shares.the architect will deliver what he's told. There is no way they can sugarcoat this, a running track cannot be accommodated without knackering a proper football stadium

So Bill will gain financially even though he's already set the sale price for the remainder of his shares to Moshiri?

Clueless

It can be done. Are you an architecht?
Personally i think this whole dock site was secured because we promised to go along. LCC then became so help full and now we are looking at the FACT that we will have Iconic and most beautiful stadion in the country...in the BMD

When Sheffield built Don Valley Stadium for the World Student Games the council were desperate to get a football club to be a tenant once they were finished. Due to the running track issue both Sheffield clubs turned them down. Rotherham played there a few years ago, and the fans hated it as there was no atmosphere. Athletics and football are incompatible.

No track (permanent or temporary) or no Deal.

They need acres of space. That's not acceptable.

You don't seem to grasp that IT WON'T AFFECT THE DESIGN OF THE STADIUM.

In EXACTLY the same way that when the Tony Bellew fight was held on the pitch at Goodison, transforming the stadium into a boxing arena was TEMPORARY.

The new stadium is being built as a football stadium with steep stands close to the pitch, as you will see when the designs are revealed.

There's no debate or sides to be taken over this. Either you understand these basic facts or you don't.
