It was a disaster of a game and frankly derbies aren't for kids.
Aiden McGeady and Tom Cleverly wouldn't have made any difference Tim. The crap that bulked out the squad is slowly going, these will be replaced
It was a disaster of a game and frankly derbies aren't for kids.
Then you're going to be disappointed
This is a gradual process that is going to take time
We're not going to be amazing overnight and we're not going to make loads of boss signings in Summer either
The whole "Now, Now, NOW!!!" attitude doesn't help, it hinders
We're a work in progress and we're going to need some quality to come from the youth team because we're not going to be able to buy it. We can buy some of it, but not all of it. We're not Chelsea or Man City. We don't have money to fling around at will. We need to buy well and promote from within, especially with a stadium to build
You call it sentimentality, I call it common sense, and once you've calmed down after another painful Derby loss I think you'll see that
It shows the complete neglect of the club's transfer activity that a couple of injuries and we're down to the bare bones and lines up on the right with 2 absolutely mind numbingly useless no mark kids.

deserves negging, which I'll do in a moment.Seamo
I'm always positive.
I want a derby win next year. And success next year.
Add bolasie and besic.
Yes it's bad but no need for us not having signed a back up to Seamo by now. It's been needed for about 5 years.
I just want to know we might beat them again some time before I'm 6 feet under![]()
No but no need to play both inexperienced defenders. Neither of whom look good enough either.
451. And counter.
But realistically I'm going to need to find some way of coping with these losses soon cause the club don't seem arsed enough about them to do anything. And I mean on field. Infrastructure is great. But who the frig cares if it's accompanied by mentally fragility and inferiority complex on the pitch.
The use of
deserves negging, which I'll do in a moment.
Koeman released a load of players in January who aren't, long-term, good enough and took a chance on us having to play kids who aren't ready yet. That plan backfired, but it was carried out to clear the dead wood out in the knowledge that we were out of the fight for CL.
If it makes it easier for you, I'll happily bury you six feet under next time you're over. At least that way you'll know it ain't going to happen before you peg it !
Well of course we all want that
I'm more interested in us improving and getting better
If it takes 2-3 years for us to do this the right way, then fine, because the best thing for all of us is prolonged success
I don't want one cup win and another 20 year wait for another just to satiate my own impatience for a trophy
I want Everton to be consistently competing with the best teams, and for that we're going to have to be in for the long haul
What will hurt Liverpool more, beating them once next season only to overspend and jettison the youth set up and then revert back to type, or building things properly and having years of success off that in our boss new stadium whilst they sit there stewing?
We need to see improvement every season until we win something, which if we keep promoting from within and buy well, we will see every season
I honestly don't care about waiting at this point, and nor should anyone else IMO
So long as we get the success, I'm willing to wait
If we stagnate next season, I'm sure we'll all be unhappy
But if we get 7th this year, 5th the next then we're moving in the right direction
This. Will. Take. Time, and the sooner we all realise that the better
Kick entitlement to the curb and start focusing on what's really important
What Everton do you want to leave for future Blues? I want to leave one that is consistently competing both domestically and in Europe
I don't want to leave one that one the Milk Cup in 2018 only to not win anything again because we got impatient and didn't see the project through
Anyone would struggle in this scenario
He hasn't played senior football in nearly a year, and was then thrown into a Derby match, at Anfield
He did well at the tail end of last season then got a serious injury
He looked rusty to me, which was to be expected after so long out
The wrong game to play him in, and to be fair he only played because Koeman had few options and was making the most of what he had
I'm not especially mad at Koeman for picking him, what annoys me is the people sticking the boot in and not appreciating the mitigating circumstances. He deserves another chance IMO, the calls to cull are ridiculous
Mikey.
I have 'disliked' your post simply because I disagree with its content; it's not retaliatery for the 'dislike' you gave me earlier on this very subject, although if you're going to do so, I think it only courteous to qualify exactly why you've 'disliked' it.
Anyway, while commendable in some ways to defend a young player in this way, there is also an expression that goes something like, 'you cannot defend the indefensible' (please also forgive the unintended pun). As I wrote earlier, and I reiterate, even I know that Coutinho likes to cut inside - he does it week in week out - so for a professional at a top Premiership club not knowing this - rusty or not - is inexcusable. And even if he had never played against, or even heard of Coutinho before today's game, after his first cut inside, he should have endeavoured to show him the outside on each occasion thereafter. However, he was 'sold' on at least two further occasions, with severe consequences. That is simply unacceptable, and of any top class defender. Equally, Koeman should have acted sooner, 'cos again, if I saw it - and Coutinho certainly took advantage - then he should have seen it too! He's just as culpable IMHO.
