James McCarthy

If he's hobbling off after 20 minutes that bolloxes up their game plan, so no.
True, they probably wouldn't do it if they didn't think he couldn't make the 90, but to Ireland they don't really care if he has a relapse of any injury once the game is over to be fair.

Same with every national team everywhere.

Be funny if McCarthy plays, makes a mistake gives away a pen, gets a red card, they get beat and Koeman laughs at O’Neill after the match!!!

To me this sounds like Koeman has got this right, all sides thinking of themselves, but he is an Everton player and our needs come first.

Why would he say he really likes James then lie about him being injured? Wouldn't McCarthy himself come out and say "he's lying I'm fit to play".

Also, IIRC, he's obligated to go play for them when called up irrespective of how unfit he is.
I dont know why he does it but he does. He has an insane vendetta against O'Neill and Keane. It's off the charts mad. Only one winner there: the RoI. That's the way the dice is loaded and Koeman is a fool for picking a fight with them.

It's obviously a fight between our management and there's but why you're picking sides is strange (not surprising).

Fact is: Koeman likes him (as you've previously said), he got injured, he's not fit enough for us so isn't fit enough for them, past experience shows he goes away with them then breaks down, we pay his wages. Ireland call him up and he legally cannot say no to them.

I feel sorry for McCarthy stuck in the middle. Personally I feel if it continues and it hampers his fitness further we will sell him just to put an end to it.

He shouldn';t have to put up with this BS each international week.

What BS?

Neither the club or Ireland have made any comments.

He didn't play against WBA as he had an injury.

He hadn't recovered sufficiently enough for Koeman to deem it worth risking a set-back against Hull.

If he plays for Ireland then he'll feature in the derby.

I should hope so too, unless Koeman makes a big song and dance out of it and leaves him out to 'prove' how right he was that McCarthy isn't fit enough to play.
