...not so sure. I think it largely depends on the opposition. I think he was unconvinced by McCarthy during a long spell when I genuinely think the player was (perhaps subconsciously) protecting his hamstrings. McCarthy let the shackles off against Arsenal because he was playing for his future and won Koeman over. Unfortunately, that all out effort meant his hamstring went again in the first half of the Derby, and the rest is history.
