James McCarthy

...the scar tissue will still be there. I was talking to a renowned sports doctor about McCarthy a few months ago and he said hamstrings can be managed by specific and persistent stretching exercises and warm ups. If I remember rightly, Ian Snodin was blighted by them and even went under the knife in an attempt to get it right but all to no avail.
It was when he had gone to right back, and had just been called up for an England squad, sad for the lad.

Oh good.

McCarthy out injured for us, playing for Ireland tomorrow.

Madness why the club allow this when they don't pass him fit for themselves and he then goes off injured for periods of time. Part of me wants to sell him because his country keeps injuring him

There's nothing wrong with McCarthy. The problem lies in Koeman's head.

he's touch and go. he may be risked and he may not be. Final decision will be the player's before anyone blames either O'Neill or Koeman.

2nd time this season his first game back from injury will be with his national side, makes you wonder how bad are his injuries.

The player cant be blamed. He's getting pressurised and so cant be expected to make an objective decision. If I was him I;d play and tell Koeman to swing.

He is fit. Why on earth would Ireland play him training and playing him if he wasn't?

But he wasn't fit two weeks ago...

And he wasn't risked last week - as Koeman pointed out in his post-match presser after WBA.

"Normally it would be one or two weeks out for McCarthy."

Perhaps because he is the best player they have and like wales with bale, will play him no matter what as long as he can get onto the pitch?
