I thought this would be interesting....its translated via google though. There is also a 2nd link I saw from an english source below.

Deulofeu, a force of nature! Best in history, according to the Milan Lab

MILAN - There are not only the excellent performance in the field; Also the tests performed by Milan Lab consecrate the new purchase Rossoneri. According to a special ranking published by the Gazzetta dello Sport, Deulofeu would be the best player in Milan's history according to the biometric parameters, overcoming ranking of phenomena such as Kaka and T.Silva.

Physical prorompenza former Everton seems, in fact, have amazing values, some of which already put on display in the last performance in the field, such as speed and endurance.

Gerard Deulofeu, the best rated player in AC Milan's history

Gerard Deulofeu has started well at AC Milan. He joins as the joint best player, physically, in the club's history. Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that the physical tests he passed at Milan on his loan from Everton match up to those of Thiago Silva, Kaka and Serginho. These three players are level with Deulofeu, according to MilanLab results.

He is one of the fastest players in the world and his speed is backed by his strength and resistance, which puts him at the head of the list of players that have played for Milan. Coach Vincenzo Montella is convinced by him and is considering using him as a false nine.

...apparently Barcelona are considering enforcing their buy back option;

I suppose it makes sense from a financial perspective.
From memory it's quite a complicated agreement. IIRC the agreed price at end of year 2 is 12m euros. But Barca can't sell him on for 12 months and even then we get a cut of any profit they make on the fee. Given that his worth is probably no more than £15m anyway, I don't think there's enough profit in it for Barca to make it a worthwhile exercise for them.

Given his continued inconsistency and apparent lack of fitness, I can't see them wanting him to be part of their squad. You never know though, if he does well at Milan then that may all change. We all know the lad has bundles of talent so it isn't impossible, just unlikely.

Its all well and good being strong when up against a bit of rope attached to a machine.....but put him against a big snarling centre back and the kid melts.

Deulofeu and strength mentioned in the same sentence, haha! Geri gets knocked over by the 'very very wind' as he would say.

Think it was 9m euros after year 1 (i.e last summer) and 12m euros this summer. After that the clause lapses.

I'm not very good at posting links Eggs but if you google it there is a good article on 442 that quotes Martinez on the subject.

The player cannot be bought back in January, nor could Barcelona swoop for Deulofeu simply to sell him on immediately for a profit.

"They can't do that," he explained at a news conference. "There are certain things in the deal. They can't take him back in the winter so they can't take him back in January. It can only be at the end of the season. It is €9m for the first year and €12m in the second year.

"If they take him back they can't sell him for a season, so he has to stay in the first-team squad for a season. At the end of that if they decide to sell him we have got first rights of getting him back or we have got a big percentage of that deal.

"There is nothing we can do if they activate it. That was the deal and the only way we could access the player in the terms that we wanted. I'm delighted with the deal."
