Bloody hell.

Some people will be blaming him for World Poverty next.

True martinez gets some stick alright but i do remember that one clearly. Mccarthy was holding his hamie 15 mins into game. It was clear that he had a problem and he was looking to the line. No movement from martinez and then snap went his hamie 10 mins later. I remember thinking.. how dopey is this manager.

Feel sorry for the lad but in my opinion he needs a complete break to get over his hamstring demons. No internationals, just completely rebuild and come back 100% fit. We have Gueye raring to go, Davies deserving game time and Besic returning to fitness. Probably the one area of the team we can take a loss in. Who said we didn't need Schneiderlin though?

Yep this. If it is still at him he needs to have it sorted for once and for all. If he is in koemans long term plans we have enough cover this season and can do without him till august

Football is a funny thing.

After the Bournemouth game we were all thrilled with him. Now just a couple of days later we're asking how wise was it to turn down a good offer from Newcastle.

surely that's the physio's job? Martinez has a degree in physiotherapy i believe, but that's uncommon for a manager, you wouldn't expect them to know what's what for sure. Physio's should really be able to see such a thing, their job is more than just coming on with a plastic glove when a player goes down, you would hope.

Interesting article here that underlines the blend aspect I touched on earlier with Schneiderlin and Wanyama (though I had it arse about face!).

That suggests a rile slightly advanced for Schneiderlin ahead of a more defensive CM.

Interesting read, I know that season he played much more,as a box to box at times and overall was his best season and one that got United coming after him, right now I think with the defence hes being more of a protector for it, obviously gueye being away and properly rested neccesitated that as well, interesting if he will be given a more advanced of the two when they play together, one thing I'm sure of isctgat gueye is a better defensive mid by a way than wanyama as well. Add Davies into that mix and the centre of our teams as good as anyone's.

Know you had doubts about was he needed mate, hopefully he makes a convert of you.

Hopefully it is only a tweak and he won't be out for long.

McCarthy covers a huge amount of ground in a game and I think has very heavily built legs. I think this may always be a problem for him. It will mean managing his fitness levels and the amount of football he plays.

I dont see it. I dont see the blend with Gueye. That partnership has us too deep in our own half. It's a bit like Barry/McCarthy was...a belt and braces approach which is way too conservative against most opposition. The McCarthy role worked on Saturday because he played in a slightly more advanced position.

I've never responded to you before even though you do talk absolute wham ALL of the time, but this 'belt and braces' approach being 'too conservative' like 'Barry and McCarthy' got us 72 points - which you like to remind people.

I seem to remember us playing them against pretty much all opposition that season too. You enjoyed that season didn't you?

Let's be thankful we have the options to change it week on week if required. I like McCarthy, gueye, MS, Davies, Barry rotation and the options they bring when injuries, loss of form or suspensions occur.

Thanks for that mate. It might be best if you swerved responding in the future too then.
