Interesting read, Moshiri, finances etc

I'm pointing out there seems to be some misapprehension that the recently published accounts make for comforting reading. They dont. They show a club still a basket case and relying on tv cash like a junkie relies on their next methadone fix.

Like most clubs outside of the top 6 Dave.

You have no idea what your even talking about.

The fact that you dismiss a new stadium with these words "Looking 3/4 years down the road to get a few more million from a stadium facility each season isn't making up any significant ground" means that I can no longer converse with you.

In case you missed it, heres the bit you are dismissing.

Everton’s match day revenue of £18 million will continue to lag behind the top six clubs: Manchester United £107 million, Arsenal £100 million, Chelsea £70 million, Liverpool £59 million, Manchester City £53 million and Tottenham £41 million.
Jesus and I thought we were doing terribly from our commercial deals. We're getting killed there. The lack of corporate facilities is a big factor.

Its not about catching the clubs above us in terms of revenue, that will never ever happen, they are all so far ahead its unreal, its about bridging the gap, giving us a fighting chance. Sustainable income.

...my point entirely. Matchday revenue is not what f=gives those club's their massive edge on us. They get that with commercial deals and CL appearance cash

Everton wont have that until we're winning titles. The extra matchday revenue would give us probably another £25M per season more...not to be sniffed at but not the catapult toward equal footing we need.

You're readily slating a billionaires plan, so I thought you had a better one!

Nevermind. Nothing to see here! Just someone from the Internet, who has no clue how businesses are made successful slating billionaires, from his Mum's spare bedroom.
My better plan as to wait for a massive investor. Instead we have Moshiri who doesn't fit the bill.

Of course David, thats why we will have to also grow other areas of income at the same time.

And thats why serious money will be injected into the squad over the next 3-4 windows.

Right, but "the catapult toward equal footing we need" is sustained Premier League success with a few trophies for good measure. The stadium is part of the long-term strategy to ensure that we can compete as well as we possibly can for that success.

There isn't going to be any catapult, we're facing a long march up a massive hill while people are rolling rocks from above us to keep us where we are. It is going to be slow, steady progress because FFP removed the ability to catapult yourself to the top.

...it'll be part funded by sales mate. I hope I'm wrong, I hope we see a massive net spend. I wouldn't bank on it though.

I agree...and that is what all those outside the elite are going to try and do.

Got as far as 'Everton’s gate receipts fell by £0.3 million (2%) from £17.9 million to £17.6 million in 2015/16' and lost all will. I know people lap this sort of thing up but I honestly couldn't care less, maybe I should and I realise its importance but I'm not remotely arsed sorry.
