The difference is Guardiola was taking over an established team with an overriding ethos he was already part of.
Unsworth would be taking over a train wreck of a side that has been in decline for over two seasons. You need someone who has full experience of first team management.

the difference is its barcalona, expected to win things straight away, same as zidane at real madrid. in no dimension whatsoever would the everton job be harder.

Our u23's show passion, commitment to the shirt, togetherness, fantastic ability and win football matches. They also have a manger who referes to everton as we or us , not managing a side in the third person like Keoman, if i had a magic wand i would have Unsy(well it is christmas).

Anyone thinking Unsworth is capable of managing a squad full of highly paid international players long term is deluded.

That part of the sentence bothers me. There are people in the world who deserve this kind of money. Jobs that actually require skill and precision i.e a neurosurgeon, or the bloke (or gal) who's working 18 hour days trying to cure cancer or AIDS or whatever. Football is an absolute farce. The sad thing is, it's a supply and demand industry and we're the mugs pushing for the supply. I say we are, I haven't been to a match for years now. The quicker "professional football" implodes, the better.

Happy?

I would have given the job to Unsworth after the Derby at Anfield last season until the end of the season

Now though, I'm inclined to stick with Koeman. Unsworth is doing well with the U23's

We don't need Unsworth as first team manager. What we need is for Unsworth and Koeman to work together in bringing the talented kids we have into the first team set up. We have senior pros at the minute who aren't cutting it. IMO, Koeman should be turning to Unsworth now and seeing what we have in the youth ranks to replace these faltering veteran players until we (hopefully) make some new signings in January

Unsworth and Koeman as a team, working together, is what we need. We don't need to kick Koeman and replace him with Unsworth, that's throwing out the baby with the bath water if you ask me

They've barely been working together for long, let's give them a little more time. Unsworth's job is to not only develop the younger players but also to encourage Koeman to work them in to the set up whilst also perhaps giving Koeman a crash course in the values and culture of the club and how bringing players up from the youth ranks is something a lot of our support value and appreciate
