As a 10 he's receiving the ball high up the pitch and having to turn all the time, generally in to trouble.

Totally disagree. Just because someone is local does not mean they should be expected to do more.

Why do people keep comparing him to scholes Gerrard and Lampard ? That kind of hype has done him no favours at all. The media frenzy after he got subbed was way over the top as well. It's hard for the lad being under such scrutiny and having huge expectations placed on him

Talent generates expectation in all walks of life mate. It's just something he needs to deal with.

I can't see that, I agree he would be better picking the ball up deep and running rather than receiving it in No.10 territory.. but the amount of headers, second balls, loose passes Barry mops up and his command of the midfield. I can't see Barkley doing that side of the role.

Really think that Ross has an attitude probem. There is no doubt about his skill and technique but he is not performing to his potential imo. Whatever people think of Phil Neville, his attitude to play football was soot on. His lack of skill was more than made up for with his attitude. The same goes for Nicky Butt at Manure, not the greatest but always gave 100%. I really hope that Koeman can bring this out in him, as I said he has the talent.
