Who let Everton/Koeman down?

Thats a bit harsh BK may have been asked advice but for the first time we hire a DOF, and it was a laughing stock, moving from one target player to another - lets hope we have dodged a bullet on Sissoko 30 million over a long term contract I hope Spurs are stuck with a dud!
It looked like a desperation signing to me!
In my eyes he had a great Euros but his team performances for Newcastle were woeful!
He had a great Euros because while everyone else he played against had a full hard season he walked around every game he played so he was fresher than everyone.

Let's be brutal about it, once Spurs decided they would pay 30 million, he was never going to choose us over them !!

The Toon Army hate him !!

He will only rot on the bench at spurs look at the midfielders they have they signed an 11 million winger too late on last night!
where will he fit in ? who will they drop for him?

I'm a bit confused by the negativity if I'm honest? If you compare against last season you have a far better manager tactically, you have a better goalkeeper in Stekelenburg, a solid centre half to replace Stones in Williams, a striker to put pressure on Lukaku and essentially a new signing in Kevin Mirallas. All in all there's a far more solid feel to the Everton team, coupled with a manager who will have his team well marshalled. I see nothing less than a top 8 finish for Everton this season.....

The negotiating team, whoever they may be.

Not Koeman and Walsh, who I'm sure identified targets. Not entirely Moshiri, although I hope he gets his own board in soon, and gets more than 49.9% ASAP.
The last line nails it for me, there appears to be an unhealthy presence of the old regime still having an influence in our dealings. Until they are removed, this incompetence will continue. It must be noted, that our squad is better than it was last May, but it could and should have been a bit better.

if we go into the january window with the same board in place and still use kenwright and elstone , then i wouldnt go expecting ANY BIG players to come and join us.

edit: actually nevermind signing BIG players , we will struggle to sign ANY players in jan with bill and co

We then signed Bolasie.

After signing Bolasie, Koeman said;

On Friday

This is the clubs manager, and majority shareholder openly admitting they need to strengthen the squad - after we signed Bolasie.

It's a fair assumption then, that the club didn't leverage the transfer window as well as they expected and that both Moshiri and Koeman will be a tad annoyed this morning. Koeman admitted himself he'd be disappointed.

So, how do Everton learn from it? Who at Everton is responsible for our transfer shenanigans?

Moshiri tells us it's Kenwright, with support from himself, Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman.

Since Moshiri come in, with the exception of Alexander Ryazantsev joining the board who has no experience in football - he's kept faith with the existing regime. He promoted Elstone and Barrett-Baxendale to the board. Does Moshiri now have a mandate for change?

"If a player doesn't want to join, what can we do?"
"If a bigger club comes in and takes our transfers, what can we do?"

Appreciate these views, but for me - that is part of the process. Competition/scoping out players who will come and navigating the minefield and murky world of football agents.

Too many times does it seem we've been made a patsy. Forget Sissoko. That was a last minute, panic. I'm not convinced we should be throwing that type of money at a player who the clubs manager wouldn't have had the opportunity to even meet face to face. That failing is just one of many.

So then, I'll wrap up with.

  • Who is to blame for Koeman being left - in his own words - "disappointed"
  • Should Moshiri be making changes to the transfer way of working at Everton?

Bill Kenwright

Guy's we have got Steve Walsh in for a reason, to find very cheap players, this years tv money (that hasn't been touched) is going to be used to by land and to start the building process, next years tv money is going on further building work, there's not going to be any signings other than loans or cheap players that Walsh finds, like Gueye, so lets just hope that Walsh can continue to work his magic over the next 5 years coz nothing is going to be put in by the board, only taken out.

Why have Spurs still got more money than us when we have a billionaire owner?

We are literally full of sh@t

We were told for years and years once we found a billionaire owner we would compete, yet we are still poorer it seems than sides like burnley and Watford

15 years of having buffoons run your club would make you feel like this mate

I think some clear roles and responsibilities need to be ironed out.

We are told BK and Elstone arent taking any part in transfer business; then who is?

If its Steve Walsh then he has failed miserably this window.
If its Ryanstev (sp) then I can almost forgive as its the first time he has gone through a window as a negotiator of players.

I doubt its Koeman or Moshiri.

Who is it?
