Who let Everton/Koeman down?

Bill was leading negotiations with Elstone in support so must take blame but there are mitigating factors.
  • Moshiri was probably pushing for a marquee to make a statement.
  • Ryazantsev has no footy experience.
  • Walsh formerly a head scout also had no negotiation experience.
  • The net budget was probably 30-40m so had to be spent wisely.
  • Lukaku could have been sold for over £70m changing things dramatically and it was only clear he was staying late on.
Thats a bit harsh BK may have been asked advice but for the first time we hire a DOF, and it was a laughing stock, moving from one target player to another - lets hope we have dodged a bullet on Sissoko 30 million over a long term contract I hope Spurs are stuck with a dud!
It looked like a desperation signing to me!
In my eyes he had a great Euros but his team performances for Newcastle were woeful!

Could it just be that at this moment in time we we're punching above our weight in regards our main targets? Once we were let down by them we were scrambling to see who we felt did improve the team, maybe Koeman felt the squad is far better than it had shown last few seasons( I doubt anyone can dispute that). When all else fails let's blame Bill and Suntan Bob as running a successful and profitable football team seems beyond them.

At least if we sold Lukaku we maybe could of got Perez and gabbiadini as well as other targets instead of penny pinching, should of cashed in as we didn't have problems bidding for players when stones was sold.

Lukaku hasn't scored in 12 games for us...

Won't be long before the press get onto it then it gets desperate.

Meanwhile we have had most shots on target this season out of all prem clubs yet have only scored 4 goals.

Boards solution? Get Valencia.

What a joke.

There's the usual stench of Kenwright and Elstone in the air. Get the buyout completed and ship them out along with any of their remaining cronies. Time for a complete restart at board level and replace any defective pieces throughout the organisation.

What we need is a sensible transfer strategy given the fact every club in the PL and the top European clubs are equally rich as Everton.

For me that means developing our own players as much as possible. In addition to investing massively in our own academy we need to be picking up the best young players from the likes of Man City and Chelsea and showing them a clear pathway to playing first team football. I think I counted something like 15 young attackers in the Man City squad who are more highly rated than anyone we have in those age groups, and they are recruiting more all the time.

We need to be developing proper links with lower league clubs throughout the country and making sure we develop a reputation as a club that plays young players.

When we do buy players it must be to fill a gap in the squad where we don't have a decent youth option. If that means paying well over the odds than so be it.

However if it is a choice between £30m on Sissoko or £30m into developing the best scouting / player development system in England I'll take the latter every time.

This for me. In terms of who let us down then the finger has to be pointed directly at Sissoko and his agent. If I were Moshiri I would make it public knowledge that EFC will never deal with that particular agent ever again no matter who he represents. It would be a very small but welcome act. In terms of other failures then we have to look at ourselves, whilst Everton can attract players who may otherwise go to teams perceived to be below us, our lack of any success, not even a cup, in decades is not a great sell to any player who wants to win. We have been made to look foolish and it's well deserved.......

it's about analysing systems, and understanding what role chaos plays.

deffo chaos has a major role in Everton affairs but there are also systems in place which are utilised to maximise income (agent networks, marketing, ownership changes, broadcast/ownership rights).

i'm just putting two-and-two together and making five ( @magicjuan )

Listen, you can't fool me. The chaos theory only exists in Jurassic Park

The negotiating team are massively at fault. But ultimately the rap stops with Farhad for allowing Bill and Elstone to stay at the heart of our dealings. Both must go asap and if they aren't fired immediately the fans must force them out.

How is Walsh not accountable?

have i missed something Where has it been published who has been doing the negotiations? We have been unlucky that we have come into money the same time as everyone else and on the back of two crap seasons

Mosh has put Elstone on the board has he not?, if Elstone can make money for him he's not going anywhere

I thought that Paul Merson summed him up very well......

“He’s unreal isn’t he?” he said. “He can’t even answer Ronald Koeman’s call. I mean what’s the game coming to? The word legend is used very loosely in football but this man IS a legend from what he’s done in football - and he can’t even pick the phone up and say ‘I don’t really want to sign for your side.’

“I watched Sissoko at Newcastle last year, he stayed out on the wing and didn’t do anything.

“When you’re that good you’ve got to be able to do something out of the ordinary to get your team out of it as that’s what top players do. I wouldn’t have been putting my £30m on him.

“He was playing in front of 50,000 Geordies, if you can’t get up for that, when are you ever going to get up for playing a football match.”........
