can't make my mind up on this. I think it's a waste of money and we could do way better, but i just also think he'll be amazing for us. His assist stats could be due to the absolute toilet strikers palace have had since he's been there e.g. wickham, campbell, gayle and an over the hill adebayor - neither of those first 2 are prolific strikers, not at this level.

He's an utter enigma though and reckon he'd perform better being surrounded by better players, could be brilliant for us. Will just see.

This is why I never set much store by "assist" stats.

A fellow could be setting them up all day for a profligate striker and have no assists to his name.

On the other hand a misplaced shot which makes its way to a striker who scores to complete the job goes in the "assist" column for the fellow whom mishit the pass.

Let that sink in everyone, were paying £22-£30mil for a player worse than Andros Townsend.
