That's fine but we are not going to attract those players regardless of price, see Witsel and Carvalho threads as evidence. So then you have to go for unknown players from abroad who you have no idea whether they will adjust to the PL. at least with Williams, Bolasie and Kone to a certain extent, we know they can perform in the PL but we have to pay a premium for them. I for one think our strategy is sound the more I think about. Strengthening our squad whilst weakening other PL teams.

If we can get these other transfers over the line and add a Mata, GK and another striker and I think Koeman has readdressed the balance of the squad and a good season awaits.

The price is outrageous, but good player (and great on his day)

Palace took 12 points in 2016, they took 10 of them while Bolasie started, 2 without him.

Talk of value for that level of players is meaningless because they are only signing for a handful of teams, and Everton aren't one of them.

Need someone in the centre who has a bit of quality, gueye can do the donkey work fine let's hope.

They were just to demonstrate that 20 something million for Bolasie is not good value. I personally would rather identify lower profile names for less money from abroad. I thought that was the point of getting Walsh on board, but if reports are to be believed then this deal is his idea. Bit baffled tbh.

I wouldn't argue with Koeman and Walsh as yet either. Let's get behind them and support what is happening at our great club for once.

Delighted with Koeman but the players we have been linked with since Walsh's arrival concerns me. I get that we haven't quite got the pull that other clubs have got but surely we should be aiming higher?
