After Everton, do you follow a second team? If so, who? Why them?

Celtic:the atmosphere is unbelievable in the boozers before games.

Barca:always preferred them to real in spain and seen ronaldinho score twice against seville in the nou camp a couple of years ago.

St. Patricks Athletic:local interest

Red Star Belgrade ( Crvena Zvedza ) after they knocked Liverpool out of the European cup in the 70's . Me and my mates sneaked past the stewards when they opened the gates up with about 10 minutes left . Also their team that won the European Cup ( dire game ) in 91 contained some unbelievable players Prosinecki , Jugovic , Darko Pancev ( Golden Boot winner ) Savicevic , Mihailovic . Not to mention the players they produced later on . Fallen on hard times now as Serbia is a pariah state and the money is elsewhere but if you watch the video of them beating Liverpool on youtube you'll understand . Also when I first started to read the results in the Daily Mirror Carl Zeiss Jena stuck in my head . Now in the lower leagues in Germany . They were in Europe 3 or 4 times in the 70's and 80's and it wasn't until I got my first camera ( well my Dad pocketed it off the docks ) I realised they were the lens factory team . Proper Football Clubs unlike today and except EFC . I was captivated by loads of Eastern European clubs at the time due to the politics I think .
I'm sure Karl Marx was born in Jena

In Europe, I'll admit to offering best wishes to ANY English team.
I became fond of United during the young super kid days ( think Beckham, Neville, Scholes, Giggs etc etc ) and their adventures in Europe, so if I had to pick one English team that I would possibly say could be a 2nd team, it would be them, as I'm still fond of Rooney too.
Domestically though, I couldn't give a hoot about any other teams success, even if I would like certain team not to be relegated, such as the Burnleys of the world.

Gotta admit. I am still fond of Rooney as well.

He's just class. And Englands only hope.

Barcelona for 20 years now (longer than Everton to be honest).

And Stoke recently, just because it's so fun watching games (even on TV) from Britannic Stadium. And because it's nice to see a Premiership team sticking to anti-continental style. And Delap throws.

I guess it's time I answered my own question, eh?

There's no one close to Everton, realy. I have soft spots for Preston North End, Reading and Sunderland, the latter due to a Mackem who tried so hard to interest me in following SAFC. I don't bother checking for their results, so it's mostly goodwill.

I've had a few versions of football manager and love to achieve promotion with a Hyde United, mainly because John O'Kane played there before retiring.

We all remember O'Kane, right? He was on that first foolish EFC team I followed. Always seemed like a perfect symbol for that lucky-to-have-survived EFC team.

Barca and Atletico, basically anyone who sticks it up Real.

Southport as well, from when I went to school there and watched the mighty sandgrounders now and then.

The Green Bay Packers - The People's Club of the USA (y)
"some teams are not created equal"

Always have always will.. finally achieved a lifetime ambition to watch a game in Green Bay in 2006 - they beat the Cardinals 31-14.
