I dont know how many games he'd start or if he'd ever be able to break into the first team, but he is an Evertonian and that'd add inspiration, determination and much greater desire to his game. He wouldnt cost much either. Maybe he has to prove himself a bit more, but I think it'd be great to have a player like him at the club.

If jo is on his way, it wouldn't be a bad loan signing to the end of the season and see how he gels with the team.
players can be crap for one team and great for another, a loan will tell us more.
Also fletcher (burnley) would be a great buy, but burnley wouldn't let him go.

I like his work rate. He's not an out and out goal scorer (no [Poor language removed] Sherlock!) but he'd be a better bet at playing just off a striker than Cahill is at the moment. He looks like a nightmare to defend against - he pops up all over the place. IMO, Harry Wobbly Head destroyed the lad's confidence at Portsmouth and he hasn't fully recovered. He's actually better off staying at Burnley with Coyle, who believes in him, than making a move to us right now.

Nugent, while not a prolific forward, does know where the goal is and is maybe best remembered for his time at Preston, only about 24 years of age so plenty of life left in the dog yet, but would I want him at Goodison.

In a word, No.

There's no way he's only 24. He's in his early 30's at best. Blatant birth certificate fiddling.

Plus whenever I hear his name all I can see is that nude pic of him that did the rounds a while back.

And he's [Poor language removed].

That's just it though.
Coyle is favourite to join Bolton, leaving Nugent with a managerless team that he may not be welcome with the new boss, or a return to relegation turmoil at Portsmouth.
He would jump at the chance of playing for us.

Maybe we should sign fellow Huytonian Lee Trundle, I heard he's a blue too.

Although personally I don't want any player at Everton whose name sounds like a piece of farmyard equipment.

Glad he didn't score against us that day, wasn't a hard chance and tbh i would have expected him to score by his standards from 4 yards out.

Playing for burnley isn't that hard for him. I think he's just like Darren Bent who when at a better club fails to perform and when goes to a level lower then he starts banging a few in. Still not convinced he's a premiership standard striker. Good luck to him!

I cant see him ever playing for Everton - if you think we could have loaned him in the summer but went for Jo instead - gives you a sense of where he is in our list of priorties. I wouldnt be to pushed like. A lot of talent that was never realised.

We wont sign a striker this window, as we only currently play with one anyway and Donovan can play there. I rate Vaughan big time and hope he takes his chance over the coming month.

Moyes made his feelings clear when Nugent left PNE, he doesn't rate him, could have signed him but went elsewhere...........end of.

Reminds me of Kevin Davis. Will get better as he gets older. For someone who doesnt play regularly (even at Burnley) he's got 6 premier league goals and 1 England cap/tap in goal.

He's more rounded than Anichebe and Vaughan IMO and I'd have him on a cheap.

Wouldnt call him a target man mate, Jimmy V is ace mate - wait for it!
