Landon Donovan

What i am looking at is the geniusness of david moyes here. If Landon arrives then we have got 4 leaders in the side

1. Phil Neville (the best one)
2.Lucas Neill (Australian captain, experienced, could see him making his point to the ref against spurs just like a captain should do although he wasn't)

3.Joseph Yobo ( Nigerian skipper)

4. Landon Donovan (galaxy and usa skipper)

Lets hope that turns around the fortunes(y)

Isn't Pienaar S African captain?

We do need a strong personality up front though.

Yak? Oh that's right, he's headed for championship football :dodgy:

Behave Adam.
You know that wasn't a knock at Yak, but at the end of the day, we have a problem this season with our league position, and Nev is still out.
Noone has managed to take on the role as leader and kicked our team up the ass, and Donovan does not suffer fools, and would be ideal leading from the front, whilst injecting a little attitude.
Saha isn't on the pitch enough to do it, even if I think he has the right character, and the Yak can't exactly lead by example at the moment, and nor can Cahill.

I know you weren't knocking Yak. I was referring to the person who suggested Yak should be sent out on loan to a championship club if Donovan comes in. (Apologies, should have been clearer.)

I think Clint Dempsey is a very nice player, but Landon Donovan is a considerably better player.

I also think Everton's style suits Donovan well. He's got the field vision, pace and finishing ability to be devastating on the counter. Also pretty good over a dead ball.

I hope he gets enough time to settle and contribute.

We already have two very strong personalities upfront. Yakubu has a tremendous goal scoring record and saha...well,we know what quality he has got(ferguson should wish he didn't let him go). Yak has been dissapointing apart from the sympathies we had for him earlier when he returned from the injury but he has got 30 odd minutes in every match from the bench and started occasionally and by his standards and the fact that he has been in the premier league for like 6 years he should adapt quickly. There's a reason moyes prefers jo over Yakubu. Right now that reason is just stamina i guess but i still know that the yak is better than Jo and bringing in Donovan may have a negetive effect on Yak as he'll go down the order then and i fear what happened with AJ may happen with him.So give the Yak a pat on the back, strikers always need that when they are of form, start with him upfront and im sure he'll be banging in the goals. That championship loan move was hypothetical and will never happen but that is another way to get him to his form

Oh and yobo is the nigerian captain and when he's out yak takes the arm band i think
