We certainly need players, I wouldn't be against us taking a gamble on someone like Landon Donavan. He can cover the positions we lack options in and he's got pace, something we lack and need.

Donovan would be a excellent pick up for three months with his eligibilty ok'd for the next stage in the Europa league. He has an attitude and will probably get in a few bust ups but no more than most. He has a winning mentality, pacy and has setup skills which are mostly hidden due to his goal scoring tally for the US National team. Had a less than stellar time in Germany but I think he has matured since then watching him play this year. Nice move Moyes a International on loan with a buddy to blood him into the area.

Then Chuckle away. I'm in no way a big fan of Donovan like some on this board but he can add to this threadbare squad with very little outlay of cash and he has the pedigree in the national game. But I know what you mean on star chasing and hoping for the best. Which I do all the time.

Yeh I know. I just hope everyone doesn't pin their hopes on him being a gamechanger. I think he may fall somewhere in between a Pienaar and Ossie. He does have skills that will help and as a marksman not bad. Not "Sahaish" but not bad.

You know thats a good question. I know he is a midfielder by trade but he could go up top and be in the ilk of what JO is doing for us at the moment.(hopefully with a better end product).
