my consolation this morning is that by half time on Saturday I'll be so bladdered that I'll think we've won
and then wake up on Sunday nursing a hangover with us either through to the Final or with Martinez gone

They fans have lost faith the players have lost faith the media have lost faith.

It's only then Inept board who haven't

I think the fact that Woods did one with half an hour left would suggest otherwise mate.

Also that they've been actively speaking to potential replacements for a few weeks now.

He's finished, the only variable now is when. We think it should be today, they will probably take a calmer view and leave it until the end of the season, but I'm 100% certain he's finished.

I think the problem we may have is Bill backing RM earlier, whilst Moshiri was skeptical. Obviously Bill was/is wrong, but Moshiri is/was being diplomatic by not using his weight to force the decision and potentially damaging a new (and hopefully temporary) business relationship.

I am not on twitter or any social media, but is there even a rumour that his position is being discussed today at board level?
It needs to happen today or Wembley is not going to be pretty.

He's finished as manager mate I totally agree. It's just prolonging it in my view they are obviously waiting till after Saturday which isn't clever, waiting for more evertonians to pay hard earned money and suffer more humiliation ( as if Last night wasn't enough )

I'm looking at it fairly simply now. Lose Sunday and he is 100% gone either next week or summer. I would think the board will do it next week as the atmosphere at goodison will be pure hatred towards Martinez so much so that even Kenwright won't have a hope in he'll of trying to keep in the position. ........or we will have a cup final to book.

As a person I like Martinez, but as a manager, he just isn't good enough for us
Any other club in our position would of sacked him months ago, that's the frustrating thing
Sure, we aren't a 'Sacking club', but if something isn't working, you have to make changes to fix it, not pretend it'll be ok

Just to add, my main concern, who the hell would we get to replace him?
Ideally, we'd want someone to get us back into Europe every season, but might we have to settle with someone who can steady the ship once more!?

Who presents the trophy for being right on the Internet?

No- one gets that trophy on the internet or in real life. I admire all who take a contrarian view, Who needs that grief anyway?

I'll say this, those who take an opposing stand are the best of us. Not that they are right but because it's the hardest position to take. Without a contradictory, reasoned argument, true consensus can't prevail. Separates the mob from true democracy. Which by definition, is a forum.

In all debate you need both. It's easy to be in general agreement. Far more difficult to stand against the tide. I'd trust a man who is loyal and be prepared to stand against the general consensus any day over a man who settles like a leaf on current thinking.
