We would be 9th not in the FA cup semi final, Lukaku would be the leagues top scorer with Chelsea and Barkley would still be out on loan!

Wrong answer. We got to a SF in 2012, should have got another in 2013 (and would have if Gibson played the QF) and we hadn't finished as low as 9th since 2006 so I don't know why you think that would be on the cards... More importantly though, this fraud wouldn't have bluffed and spoofed his way into our club and we would be in a better position today. Thanks for playing!

it will get worse mate if come tuesday morning we have a cup exit and a spanish manager still in charge without a word otherwise.

That will make the board look weak, they will be accepting poor football, whether they plan to sack him or not. How can the board sit there especially after last night and still think in any reasonable thinking, that this can turn around? John woods at least will be marching in the boardroom and telling them whats what, whether he is a voice they listen to is another thing.

The thing is mate they're already showing they are weak by keeping him on for a vivid fa cup dream. I wanna win a trophy like all of us but this manager isn't the right man for that at the club right now. Results are getting worse disharmony unrest with the players is for all to see, and us fans are bearing the brunt and we are basically suffering for supporting what we love - Everton fc

We'res the motto used to mean something sadly I've lost my faith in that.

I think the fact that there are no comments from the club (despite the two year decline) suggests that something is going on behind the scenes. If the club made an official statement to back RM then there would clearly be a backlash, especially after last night. If they made an adverse comment about RM and his imminent future then it would open the club up to continual and immediate questioning about the replacement, who it will be when, when he will be in position, how much money has he got to spend, etc, etc.
For me the silence is quite telling. Might not get the result we all want on Saturday but on that basis it may well be the last game for RM. If we get to the final he will get a stay of execution. We win the cup (!!) and we are all happy, RM still gets the boot, everyone's happy. I know it's in short supply but patience is a virtue. COYB.

With him in charge, can you honestly see the point in Saturday's Semi?
30k of us travelling to London to get wupped.
If we want any chance or hope, someone has got to have the balls to get rid of him today.
Any fan that thinks we have a chance with this clown in charge is unfortunately dillusional.

He's gone at the end of the season.

He knows that and he knows his stock has fallen dramatically.

We were awful yesterday with our strongest possible team out. I expected to get hammered but it went even worse with the semi final just two days away.

Players should hang their heads in shame for not having any pride.

They may not be playing for the manager, but they can't even muster the 'character' to play for themselves, never mind the fans and club that pays their wages.

Martinez has completely lost it.

I completely agree mate.

but even if you try to look at this subjectively, the best form we have had is in the cup. So from a perspective you can say give him his FA cup game and see if he can pull it out the bag yet again which is obviously a positive for the club if we got through. that has to be some thinking behind it.

I'm with you like, i want him gone today. I think we have already lost on saturday because the players won't believe they can win, never mind tactically. All it takes is united to score first and the game is over sadly. sounds pessimistic but plkenty on here said we would get hammered last night and they were all right.

He has to go in the summer now regardless doesn't he?

Surely we've reached the point of no return after last night?

I mean, we'd have to beat Man United 7-1 for most to think otherwise at this current juncture

I think we reached that point before last night. Honestly hoped I'd look on here this morning and find a thread about his sacking, sadly not.

We can't possibly be any worse by chucking an interim manager in there for the rest of the season so why not give it a go?

Seeing as Davek isn't here, I'll fill the giant orange shaped hole with what he'd probably be saying

- That defeat wasn't Martinez's fault, it was the fault of the clueless players who couldn't carry out his awesome tactical innovations well enough

- The supporters were also at fault for not being loud/passionate/patient (delete where appropriate) enough

- 72 Points

- We're in a Semi Final, so League results don't matter

- David Moyes got us to a Cup Final and had us finishing in the top half of the table, he was a bad manager

- Roberto Martinez has got us to a Semi Final but has us finishing in the bottom half, he's a good manager

- 72 Points

- Roberto has to stay because he has us playing the best football in the history of all time. The football is amazing and we should all be praising the ground Martinez walks on for bringing great togger back to the Goodison Park

- We don't have a problem with defending, and anyone who says otherwise is a disloyal plotter

- People only want Martinez gone because they are a bunch of knee jerk and entitled cry arses bothered by the fact we got destroyed by Liverpool in humiliating fashion. It has nothing to do with over 18 months of bad performances and poor tactics

- 72 Points, 72 Points, 72 Point, 72 POINTS!!!

Have I missed anything?
Yes you missed something, a bit of humility. The man stood his ground, with others, has sadly been proved wrong. Who presents the trophy for being right on the Internet?

Not even that would do, mate.

I do still feel sorry for the guy, but he is paid handsomely and has failed at his job.

I've got a feeling that old romantic Bill is gonna convince the board to stick with him.
