Not really. Merely an opinion that winning the cup and beating the RS would be difficult, but would convince the decision makers ,thats the board and Moshiri, to stick with Martinez, IF there is any doubt about that anyway. I think he's safe until at least Christmas and the start to next season, and comings and goings in the summer are whats important.

So on the basis of one league game against Liverpool forget the rest of our league form over 2 years.

Small club attitude mate

I'd rather we got a decent manager who focussed on the league and making winning at the RS the norm rather than an achievement

The Sunday times piece. Includes quote from Ped Mcpartland

Good article that. Like the bit where he refers to Martinez as someone "whose achievements are rarely as superlative as his words." Suitable epitaph?

A lot of Martinez's future will rest on just how much influence Kenwright has. Expect him to start invoking the memories of Kendall and everyone demanding his resignation in 83 and drawing parallels to Martinez.
It's nonsense of course because that team lacked luck not chemistry, but you know the romanticised version of reality Kenwright exists in.

This week will probably end in defeat on Weds and through on penalties on Saturday. Dull and uninspired but gets the job done.

Are we really into car comparisons mate?

EFC is an almost £200 million turnover company.

It's actually now one of the biggest businesses in Liverpool. Let's not treat it like a sports car, yeah?

It's not for joyriding.
Exactly my point, Our latest share holder has made a massive investment in the club and it would appear that all is not well, so get it sorted. I know you have been behind Martinez and have been against sacking him, however I think we(EFC) have reached the point that the sack is the only option. yeah

A very well written and succinct piece. Who says journos don't come on here for their stuff !

The funny thing is, now I've come off the fence, and really started to soul search, things like this become a lot more clearer:

"But they finished 11th (Wigan) the season before he arrived (Martinez) and had the premier leagues joint - seventh best defence. Then under his management finished 16th, 16th, 15th and 18th conceding 275 goals in four campaigns"

The parallels of regression are quite frightening when you look at it !

It was that what got me concerned. Especially when some lad posted a Wigan supporters theory from 3 years ago. It was spot on, even down to the league finishes he predicted.
