I'm talking specifically about the timing of the poll. Regardless, I apologise if i came across that I was questioning that the site wouldn't run polls on current issues.

Great post. My problem isn't with the poll or the decision to run it. My point is, it's not the right time.

So in your view we shouldn't;

If you are really neutral, let people rant. Fume whatever and Lord knows there is plenty to bitch about.

What we actually should do, is close down any poll a fan starts and tell them we don't allow polls until we (or you?) determine it's 'the right time'.

The responsibility falls on us, a moderating team of 9, to determine when the right time is for fans to discuss the managers position?

Sorry, disagree. I'd sooner allow the fans to determine that themselves. All we've asked is polls on the manager aren't created after every bad result. We closed them and asks fans to use the dedicated thread which allowed for fans to change their vote as they saw fit;

So now, we have one thread, one poll which fans can if they wish, debate the manager, and vote if they wish and change that vote if they see fit.

Just to conclude, your entire rant was based on us running this poll. We didn't. A fan did;

I don't think you have a warped, view at all. In fact, I think what you and the moderators here accomplish is something that has been lacking for a long time. Not only that, I'm sure I'm not alone when I state that without the combined effort and excellence that is provided by this site Evertonians would be poorer for it.

Saying that, you're not immune from criticism. Running a poll before a semi final, is a decision, fan based or not, that ultimately resides with you. There's nothing contradictory in assuming that whatever runs on this site isn't under your parameters, to decide fair play or not. In my opinion it's a bad call. I just don't see how it helps the situation. However if you want to argue that, primarily it's irrelevant and that if it reflects Evertonians opinions, fine I would agree.

What I do find odd is that entertaining the idea that maybe waiting to hold a poll after an event is unusual.

Only an FA Cup win will save him now I think.

Sad that it may end up this way, but to be where we are now is a disgrace.

Happy with the cup runs and some of the play up until the end of February.

Since then it's been appalling and RM is showing he hasn't got what it takes.

Finally, probably, in the 'out' camp, though still don't think anything will happen until after the semi (if we lose) or the end of the season.
