Well this is just wildly incorrect. Butland this season and whilst he was at Birmingham, Foster at Watford, Carson at Birmingham, Marshall at Cardiff... list goes on. The more shots they face, the more confident they get since their concentration levels will always be at a maximum unlike top keepers who could face two shots in 90 minutes.

Ruddy, Elliott, Stekelenburg, Schmeichel, Guzan, Fabianski, Begovic, Krul. I'd argue that all of them have performed worse this season, and most of them are quite possibly worse in terms of their actual present level of ability.

I'd say Guzan, Fabianski and Krul are about level. Begovic is better.

This is true this, no matter how good or bad they are themselves, keepers in awful sides will always perform badly.

yes thats true but his overall positioning are not in those stats, and that makes him even worse imo!

His positioning is poor.
He is not imposing when 1v1.
He doesn't command his area well.
He instils zero confidence in the defence.
Anything he does well, I'd expect any decent keeper to do.
IMO he's simply not good enough for us any more. (and hasn't been for a while)

His overall positioning is reflected in the number of goals conceded and shots saved, isn't it? And if it doesn't actually affect the number of goals he concedes, then why should we care about it? Same with the starjumps and closed eyes and tackling with his feet and not commanding his area and lack of yelling at his defense -- if they don't actually cause him to concede more goals than he would otherwise, why should we care about them?

Ruddy always looks like a good goalkeeper while he watches a shot go past him and into the net. I'd rather have the guy who looks silly but stops the shot.

I hate criticising players who obviously are trying their best but the reality is that in the premier League a team needs a keeper who can command his area with authority.

When that cross is coming over get to the thing and get it out. No second guessing.......
