Tim Howard

The decision to play him shall be boo'd on the weekend by myself, even if thats me on my own I'm not bothered, he's shocking and should be dropped immediately

The problem is not really with goalkeeping. Tim's save percentage is reasonable. The problem is the team have allowed 49 shots on target so far this season. That is fifth on the table, surpassed only by Stoke and the relegation sides Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa. By contrast, City have allowed 17. Even Bournemouth have allowed only 33. It's a team defense issue, not a keeper issue. Oh, and where are the goals from Mirallas and Deulofeu 10 games in?

Introduce yourself in the New Signings forum. Do not defend Tim Howard...this advice is brought to you by a fellow American...from Seattle.

This was in Moyes' last season, you truly are [Poor language removed], aren't you @TimHowardGK? pic.twitter.com/YuIHUPwZhy

Jesus H Christ when you see them all in a compilation like that, from one season, and not even the season he's been taking stick for!

Someone show that to Martinez, plus all his clangers from last season, and his clangers from this season, and ask him to explain why he's still our first choice goalie.

A post truly made in america

He'll do well at the weekend. Lost times how many times he is under scrutiny and then pulls out a bit of form to save himself. I expect that sequence to continue. He'll be the hero on Sunday.

I think the whole ground should boo
When his name is read out
To basically give Martinez the message that we aren't Wigan and we won't put up with this [Poor language removed]
And while we probably won't get him sacked
Due to some of the problems at board level at the moment

We can certainly put him under real pressure

how ridiculous.

you might want to have a word with yourself at some point before Sunday.

And his backers like Dougie have been trying to tell us he was great up until last season

Have to disagree on this one mate.
I see why Howard plays and it's quite obvious.
Howard has his issues, definitely, and Martinez sees it. Robles however is obviously not cutting it in training, to the point where Martinez had given up on him last year and was going to press ahead and find another deputy to put Howard under pressure.

Howard is the safer choice, in Martinez's opinion, mine, Doug's and others. It may not be 'safe' full stop, I don't think you'll find many who think that, but until we don't have more pressing issues needing investing (which we are getting closer to) or we get a bucket load of cash, the debate will rage on.
What does it matter what they do in training. I don`t care about that. I care about what they do in competitive games.
