To be honest, if we had Martyn in goal our whole team structure would change as the players would have so much more confidence with him behind them even losses like yesterday could become wins.

Its not like we have an average keeper and want someone world class....we have an awful keeper.

Most important position in the team is correct. The keeper is the most unique role and needs a big, strong and fearless character.
Strikers win you games and headlines, but the keeper is often the reason a team is successful and can win honours.

Fully agree the keep is the most important position. Southall being there alongside our most successful period in history wasn't a coincidence.

Thats the thing mate.
Because of Howard, Stones & Jagielka need to be perfect every game and thats going to happen, you cant expect a 21yr old CB and a 33yr old CB to be perfect every game just so we dont concede. Apart from the last few games our defence has been really good. When your CBs have off days a decent keeper will bail them out ala De Gea but ours is utterly useless so Stones and Jagielka need to be perfect every game and thats just an unrealistic expectation

I don't know where you've got that stat from, but it must be completely skewed by the Spurs game when they kept hitting it at him, because I'm struggling to think of any other saves he's made. LOL at you "irrational" hatred. Do you know what irrational means? I think you'll find my hatred of him is completely 100% rational actually

good idea ... like tagging goalie that kids play .. or at least used to.

Another thought is to get one of the rugby lads in, they're fearless and able to jump high in traffic ... and they generally catch the ball.

Modern day goalies are giant tall yet total fannies, they need to man up as a species.

Howards mistakes far exceed joels, and theres a least a bit of hope that joel might settle a bit like last year and be steady for us. Tims just consistently mucking up
