I've gone for at least until Xmas.

I feel it would be folly to get rid now, but if the football continues as it was yesterday, for example, around 4 months into the new season, serious questions must be asked.

I wish there had have been an option for sometime around two months or so into the season, woolly.

I reckon that woukd gave attracted a big vote.

Thought about it, but didn't think it was a realistic option.

If we're in the same boat coming up to Christmas that we were this season then even our board's patience is likely to be tested, but, barring being in the bottom three come November, I can't see them even thinking about sacking Martinez before Christmas.

Eventually money talks though. The difference between 11th and 7th this season was about 5 million. If they think someone can do a better job than Martinez to bridge that gap then it'll be considered.

Get rid of him now. I hear Big Sam is available.

Would give him until at least Christmas, depending on our situation at that time. If we are not in the top eight, and looking like progressing further rather than descending, then maybe it would be time to part company.

It's not just about the League though, there are two cups on offer that we need to take a serious run at. If we had finished 11th but were due to face Arsenal this Saturday at Wembley, or made the CapitalOne Cup Final, the season takes on a whole different look.

I'm seriously considering "crossing the floor of the House" to join the plotters - subject to a suitable replacement (up-grade) being in place.
But theres the thing, no one has suggested a realistic improvement. Just more risky unproven managers or totally unrealistic ones

In your opinion dave! Many have been sacked for much less.

I think 10th is laughable. And the poor tactics, clueless selections, media tripe....

The truth could well be he's just not a very good manager.

The truth could be he's just had a bad season and is infact a great future manager. (Although Samuel etto tends to disagree)

At this stage it's not laughable whether you want him gone or to stay!

Personally think he should be sacked. NOT just because of a bad season all round. BUT because I don't think he's very good and don't think he's got what it takes to take us where I wanna go.

Oh...And my money is on him being first manager sacked next season.
If we were a club that spends money and wins trophies I'd say 'yeah, 5th and 11th and no cup runs, He has to go'. However, we're not.

You've had one record breaking season, now you've had an underperforming, mediocre one.

Rough/smooth.

So how does that make it a case we should consider his position?

Care to elaborate on why...was shocked when I checked the poll.

I'm beginning to doubt "it's just a bad season" - I can just as easily argue that the whole season has been a disaster from the beginnings of pre-season, the players being under-cooked. The tactics, the selections, the apparent lack of conviction in the players, his inability to change things in the course of a game...... etc etc.

Yesterday was the poorest performance tactically, the least motivated Everton team, stuffed full of talent, yet looking lost, hopeless and bereft of ideas on the pitch and on the touchline.

I'm instigating my multi @Barry Plotter

However we would need a suitable replacement before he went, otherwise no point.

@Hairy Plotter would be a boss multi

Not even that mate.

Any notion that he would be sacked is laughable.

Just can't see us doing that ever.
He doesn't deserve it that's why.

The conceit that we sack a manager because we fall out of the top half of the table. Unreal.

We are not a club that earns the right to hire and fire because we dont back managers.

I'd say the right tone to strike is that we know he can provide excellent football and 21 wins in a season. So lets see how far back to that standard he gets next season.

Or we could go and get that Klopp or Capello in, because they'll defo do a brilliant job with a net spend of £17M over two seasons.

People say give him till Xmas can someone please tell me what is going to change apart from a few a players coming in and a few going out.

That's too general and prompted by a poor final day performance.

The truth is that this season we blew hot and cold. The same players that tipped up their and surrendered yesterday were the team that blitzed United 3-0 a month ago.

Baby, bathwater etc....
