I would want him to come good , but I just dont see him changing. in fact im certain he wont change anything about himself and his twisted view of what good football is.

His twisted view of good football worked for us in 13/14. It's a confidence trick, we need that confidence back. Without it, we're powerless.

Well we can't afford to throw money at the problem like our lovable neighbours (not that that really does a great deal for them) so we've got to have some faith, for another season at least, that he's the right man for the job.

It's either sack him now or sack him after next season if he doesn't come top 6, I'm fairly ambivalent about his future to be honest.

Yes so your saying Martinez is trying to build a side that dominates like Jose's Chelsea

Then your using the point that because Chelsea have won the league then Martinez is obviously correct in his approach

Problem is Chelsea have Hazard/Matic and Costa, We have Naismith/Osman and Mcgeady

The original point - and part of why people are willing to give Martinez until Christmas @Woolly Blue

Is that they want to see who Martinez brings in first.

If its Alcaraz type signings he'll be gone by November.

It works for them when they get the signings right: Alonso, Torres, Suarez.

It's sort of working for us in Rom, but we need to throw 20m on a promising playmaker who'll feed him. Just not sure who's out there who'll realistically join us, but whoever it is and if we get him, he could redeem Martinez.

In.

Any notion he should be sacked is laughable.

In your opinion dave! Many have been sacked for much less.

I think 10th is laughable. And the poor tactics, clueless selections, media tripe....

The truth could well be he's just not a very good manager.

The truth could be he's just had a bad season and is infact a great future manager. (Although Samuel etto tends to disagree)

At this stage it's not laughable whether you want him gone or to stay!

Personally think he should be sacked. NOT just because of a bad season all round. BUT because I don't think he's very good and don't think he's got what it takes to take us where I wanna go.

Oh...And my money is on him being first manager sacked next season.

Next season will start without Kenwright chomping on Martinez's sos, putting kopite mosaics up, and offering him contract extensions. May just jolt Bobby back to reality.

We should play like Brazil 1970.

A 4-2-3-1 - :-)

I would play.

Lukaku
Cleverly/? Deulofeu Mirallas
Barkley McCarthy/Besic
Baines Jags Stones Coleman
Robles

I think that's where Cleverly played for him at Wigan so it might make sense. I'm not sure I necessary think Cleverly is good enough for there but if he's on a free I would be willing to take the chance.

It is still one winger but I'm not sure it is necessarily the two wingers that are the problem. There's more attacking threat than playing with both Barry and McCarthy and I think that would make a big difference.

Granted I have stated this for a while but I think Martinez will be a good manager and is growing. We had a bad season. I think I and many of us overestimated our talent level an depth. It isn't like we finished 16 or 17th. I know I said it many times were never going to get relegated it doesn't mean I was happy. This is an important summer. We have to have to get a good No.10 - I think by far our biggest need, we don't have one. I believe he deserves a full season if there is a lot of turnover this summer it could take half a season to get everyone bedded in.

But a few points - Average Drop in Table places Yr over Yr when playing in Europa - 3. By all accounts worse than average (6). Drop when Moyes placed 4th ( with a -1 GD by the way against a much weaker PL), 7 places to 11th with a -15 GD. In Moyes second year finished 17th once again against weaker competition and (yes with a weaker squad). Was everyone calling for Moyes to be sacked? If so than at least you are being consistent. If not then why the two different standards? There is a difference between being unhappy and rational and being kneejerk. We are coming off a year where the majority of our key players were in a world cup half way around the world with the third most missed games due to injury in the PL I believe. They have been playing non-stop for 20 months and in a squad of our size that is a tough ask.

I hope he has learned from the season and applies it to next year. I think we re-evaluate at end of the season provided we aren't at the foot of the table at Christmas (which I do not expect). This is not to go back and slate Moyes but one bad season (11th) after a fantastic season and people are jumping ship, it really is laughable and I am glad that those people are not running the club. - I personally believe finishing fifth in the current state of the EPL is a much better accomplishment than the 4th of Moyes and the 11th of now is much better than the 11th of Moyes. Many more teams have money now than then.

Sensible post, mate.

I have absolutely no faith whatsover in the bloke, especially after hearing that interview. He's truly deluded on several key issues.

Whilst garbage like Kone, Alcaraz and Hibbert are given places in the squad and he refuses to accept that we've been figured out stylisitically by other by much less-quality sides then the slump downwards is only going to continue. Not interested in him trying to charm supporters with his spin, it won't wash.
