@Del

The simple facts are we were good enough to finish 6th in the EPL with side and the following season he took us to 5th - with the addition of a top drawer striker, Barry and a young Barca starlet. He did a good job, no denying it, but to make over he somehow worked a miracle because we were poor side is a total fallacy.

Shout what? That our squad is utter tribe

What are you waffling on about

I pulled up a poster for suggesting Martinez took over a "Great" team, He didn't, Its average bar 3-4 players, That's a fact

No, it's an opinion, not a fact at all

^ only it wasn't average in the context of the league it competed in ffs. It was the 6th best side in the league, maybe 'great' was pushing it, but equally making out it was 'average' is attemtping to re-write history.

One thing Martinez has said lately that I agree with, "tonight's game is a cup final" your dam right it is and I hope the management and players play like it's our cup final.

I genuinely want Martinez to turn it around and hopefully he will.

I can't stomach the attitude of some of the posters in this thread tho. Apparently, if you dare question the position of a struggling manager, you're a snide, disloyal fan who wants Everton to lose tonight.

Or "plotter" for short

MCarthy/Lukaku/Stones/Coleman/Baines/Kev - I count 6 good players, Players that you could see playing in a top 4 side, My mistake saying 4

Look at the rest of our squad Kone/Oviedo/Pienaar/Osman/Mcgeady/Atsu/Distin/Jags/Hibbert/Lennon/Howard/Robles/Alcaraz/Gibson/Besic

It really is a poor squad, Credit to Moyes having us near the top end of the table so often with what he had

And yet.

Get ourselves to the comfort zone and have a wee charge in Europe and this season could yet turn out to be golden.

And if you think I am being a Simple Simon think back to how we were feeling during the autumn and winter of 83/84.

;)
Good point but Howard worked from the ground up. Bob seems to be doing the opposite.

Our players are not up for a relegation battle.

This is possibly the truest, scariest comment so far made on the subject of possible relegation.
