Aye but both Lescott and Toure are left sided!
Toure is not, he was never playing left back for Arsenal (Gallas and Silvestre were, if you are looking for a CB playing as full back), but he was playing right back quite aften, when Sagna was struggling with unjuries and after Wenger stopped trusting Eboue there.

I think he means left sided centre half...

Honestly think Upson will end up at City well before Lescott - he seems much more likely to welcome a move as are West Ham.

If they're after a second CB, they'll either chase some 'big-name' glamour foreigner - Lucio/Naldo/Mexes type.

Or, now that Arsenal have signed up this Belgian character, they have an easier go at getting Hangeland.

Fair enough, but i think his point was that Toure leans towards the right hand side. He's played right sided centre back alongside Gallas and Silvestre, and he's right footed.

Meaning I don't think Lescott and Toure are incompatible.

I'd be REALLY surprised if Toure left Arsenal though.

I meant a left sided centre back mate.

Toure has a year left on his contract is getting on a bit and is away at the ACN Feb, makes good big buissness sense for Arsenal to sell him for a reported 12mill it would be very much Wengers style i.e Henry, Viera etc.

May or may not influence a deal for Lescott, i choose to hope, they also have Kompany, Richards and Dunne who play there.

although i think the money is ok at first glance a few things have to be taken into account with lescott.

1.jags is out
2. he is currently our only left back cover for baines
3.the only way up from him (in english terms) is either rio or terry
4.he is one of our best and most important players and a key team member.
5.his signing would give our rival (man city) an advantage over us perhaps in the league.

so yea we could get a good price but we would need to buy a lcb and a lb (to fill lescotts possible dutys) and regardless of who we buy surely at first glance it would be a step backward ?

going by the price utd paid for rio many years ago , the price spurs paid for bent a few seasons back and lescott's importantance to the team and talent , man city need to pay atleast 25 million cash and throw jo too.

even then i think man city would be getting a very good deal.

6. If Lescott can be touched so can anyone, including the players people presume we can bring in to improve the squad.
