Baines and Coleman need a winger on each side to push the play wider. Having Naismith and Barkley on at the same time narrows the play horrifically.
I think, and I know it will sound like i'm being pedantic here, that they need natural "wide players" rather than wingers.
What I mean is that Baines, not blessed with pace needs someone who is going to seek him out and give him the ball, dare i say someone like Pienaar.
Coleman on the other hand i would say works better with a Mirrallas type - someone who will look to drift in and therefore leaving acres for Coleman to exploit.
I think on the right we need a winger and I think we have that covered with Kev and McGeady, but its on the left that we are crying out for a more subtle and deft player to get the best out of Baines.
"Winger" makes me always think of players who look to get to the by-line every time they get the ball which I think would be bad tactically for both Coleman and Baines
