His starting position for the 2nd is atrocious and then he goes backwards ffs.

Jelavic brought the ball down on his chest on the bounce inside the penalty area and he's still inside his 6 yard box

One can argue that our Joel lad is capable of advanced mathematics that he can apply integration to the ball trajectory and calculate if he can get to the ball if he dives. On all such occasions, his mental mathematics indicates he can't get to the ball. Hence, he never dives!
Over the top this he has made some good saves, with that defence he has had no cover! Not an ideal No 1 , but maybe the 2nd goal today he should have carried on going for the ball made it easy for Jelly!

Mate I've seen keepers dive pointlessly to 2 yard tap in smashes. 99% of the time their efforts aren't rewarded but 1% of the time their legs, shoulders, head or other man parts save the ball.

Imo he could have dived for the first goal today as well. Just react FFS. Does he dive when he faces a pen, we'll wait and see.

I have concerns over his ability to command a defence. He needs to set an example to the defence that HE is the man in charge. At the next available opportunity I'd like to see him deal with young Luke Garbutt's positional indiscipline in the wall on free kicks by striding over to him, forcing him to bend over and SAVAGING young Luke's anus.

Then nobody would be in any doubt of who is the boss in goal and clean sheets would surely follow.

He faced a pen against Sunderland boxing day last season and dived so he can Deffo move when the mood suits.

Clean sheets? What about the jizz stains?
