Is it time for us to replace Howard?

YES

Plenty of better goalies out there.

Zieler is one, Begovic, Timo Horn (young but could be really good)

Perrin from Genoa (Not seen much of him myself but mates who watch the italian league tell me he is good)

but there is definitely options out there.

Perin - possibly the new Buffon, reckon Juve or Milan should grab him. Everton should be first choice of course....

With rumours of him being off at the end of the season to the MLS to cash in on his popularity over there we might have to.

Valdes will be looking for a Club soon. Just need to keep picking up those points to increase our attractiveness

So people though about Lukaku. But he came.

We're not a tiny club, we need to aim high and not have psychological barriers now.

This.

It's not just about whether you're in the CL or not, it's also about your ambitions as a club and we all know we have an ambitious manager at the club, a manager whose visions are easy to buy into.

I feel that's more persuasive in trying to recruit someone. Look at Rodgers, finished second in the league and still couldn't attract top players in the summer.

And we signed Samuel Eto'o ffs. We CAN sign big name players if the money is there.

For me, Tim Howard has had a rough run of form in the league. However, I don't think he should be replaced. First of all, while his league form has been below the standard for a PL keeper, his EL form has been very good.

As far as replacements, Begovic is under contract for a few more years, and I cannot see Stoke willing to sell him (short of us overpaying) unless they are relegated. Plus, he is also in poor form at the moment. Adrian or Vorm are about on equal rating as Howard. Marshall - he had a decent season last year and if Cardiff do not earn promotion this year, I can see them selling him. However, he has not had an extraordinary season this year if you go by his Whoscored rating.

Now Jack Butland is a good shout. Had a good run of games recently for Derby County, including 2 clean sheets. If Begovic continues as Stoke's first choice keeper, then in a year or two, as long as he continues to develop positively, I wouldn't mind putting in a bid for him to potentially be our keeper of the future.

In summary, Howard needs to play better, but realistically, the options for replacing him at this stage are not realistic. I suppose you could argue for giving Robles a go (maybe his appearance with the U21s is an omen for an imminent appearance with the 1st team). However, with our other needs (I would prioritize left and right sided attackers over a keeper), I would hope Everton would not panic buy and instead patiently search for a sustainable replacement (eg Butland).

Not convinced by Buckland. But then I'm not convinced by Joe hart either.

NBC Sports is advertising the City match of Tim Howard 'The Immovable Object' v Aguero... lol

Acutally I think Howard has had a good month and was only the about the 6th worst player on Sunday.
