We need a song for him.

I've completely come round on this. Was fully against it now I'm fully for it.

Great squad addition!

probably a bit before your time this one chuck, but it's to the tune of In The Ghetto by Elvis

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
Samuel Eto'o

And his mama cries
Cause if there's one thing that she don't need
It's another hungry mouth to feed
Samuel Eto'o

People, don't you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see,
Do we simply turn our heads
And look the other way
Well the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
Samuel Eto'o

Look lads, I know it's terrible that not everyone is falling over in joy that we're signing this lad, and that annoys you because we're harshing your buzz, but people are entitled to their opinions

If you think it's great and have no reservations about him coming in, that's awesome! It really is. Bravo for your positivity!

If some of us are somewhat wary of it, it's because we feel there are legitimate reasons to feel that way

We're not saying it just to be grumpy spoil sports

If us being somewhat not fully positive about it is making you less happy about the deal, maybe you should analyse why rather than having a pop at us for being honest about how we feel

I don't think there should be a concern about his attitude/reasons for coming
1) if he's accepted terms at Everton then we know that he's taken a huge wage cut. We know the limits of the club's wage-structure.
2) The amount of anecdotes about Martinez going to players with tailor-made approaches to them to convince them to sign for him makes me confident that he's convinced Eto'o of the value of joining. The story about Naismith at Wigan and then Everton when he said "If the mountain won't come to Muhammad then Muhammad must go to the mountain", how he approached Barry with observations from his Villa and Brighton days.
He'll have tapped into the particular aspect that motivates Eto'o at this point in his career.
What a brilliant addition to the team.
City sign Lampard.
Chelsea sign Drogba.
Everton sign Eto'o.
Class.

Love the fact that certain people were moaning that we needed to sign players and the board and RM were letting us down if we didn't and now we are set to sign arguably the biggest name to play for us in over 20 years and they are saying the board and RM are mad to waste money/take such a risk.

Only at Everton. Guess you can please some of the people some of the time and the negative chumps never.

"Oh we've got legitimate reservations about a player of 33 dontcha know.
We think his wages are a risk and what not.
I personally worry about his attitude. I mean, he dresses most audaciously."

"Oh yeah? Well he's won this and this and this and this. He's been African player of the year about 10x and he's played for Inter Chelsea and Barca. So shut it yeah?"

**Knock it off both of you**
