If some of us are somewhat wary of it, it's because we feel there are legitimate reasons to feel that way

I don't think there should be a concern about his attitude/reasons for coming
1) if he's accepted terms at Everton then we know that he's taken a huge wage cut. We know the limits of the club's wage-structure.
2) The amount of anecdotes about Martinez going to players with tailor-made approaches to them to convince them to sign for him makes me confident that he's convinced Eto'o of the value of joining. The story about Naismith at Wigan and then Everton when he said "If the mountain won't come to Muhammad then Muhammad must go to the mountain", how he approached Barry with observations from his Villa and Brighton days.
He'll have tapped into the particular aspect that motivates Eto'o at this point in his career.
What a brilliant addition to the team.

Love the fact that certain people were moaning that we needed to sign players and the board and RM were letting us down if we didn't and now we are set to sign arguably the biggest name to play for us in over 20 years and they are saying the board and RM are mad to waste money/take such a risk.
