Why doesn't everyone wait for until next year before fuming at him being over the hill on big wages or praising him as still dead boss?
And just see how he goes.
And just see how he goes.

I didn't call 'everyone ' divs . I called the usual moaners divs the ones who are never happyYou called everyone divs mate, that's not an opinion.
Don't understand anyone complaining really. The guy has consistently scored goals at the highest level, including last year at Chelsea. He has a somewhat chequered history, but seems to have a great work-ethic and always looks very fit to me.
To put his age in context, he is 33 but he's less than 6 months older than Ibrahimovic, a player who scored 41 goals for PSG last season. I don't doubt that Eto'o would have scored a fair few more than he did if he'd started regularly.
On top of the goals, what he offers off the pitch is equally exciting. What a great role model for players on the way up like Barkley and Lukaku, I'm excited to think what it might mean for their aspirations as players. The guy has won leagues in Italy and Spain and has three Champions League medals.
To me, it's an absolute no-brainer.

My point was never that Hope was better than Eto'o
My point was that rather than bringing in an older player for big money as a short term fix, maybe it would be better to cultivate our younger players with a long term view
That being said, it sounds like we've got Eto'o at a very reasonable wage considering his "name value", so it's not as urgent a reason to be wary of the deal as I first thought
contradicts Greg this morning
