It was probably the 12 then lol
HAHA...I hear you. It's good having friends with a lot of disposable income

It was probably the 12 then lol

Not a bad shout at all.Picked up a Dalwhinnie the other day. Floral, I feel. Always liked it but not had it for years.
Lovely one, for beginners or buffs.

Beautiful.Anyone looking for a decent Scotch at supermarket price i would thoroughly recommend Old Pulteney 12 yr. On offer in my local Tescos at the moment, only £25.00

My cousins' husband has recommended this to me, still waiting to try it.I live approximately 30 minutes away from the distillery in Roudham Norfolk. Done the tour a couple of times. Its very good. I am partial to a bottle of the chapter 9 now and again. My wife was kind enough to buy me a bottle of the rare chapter 14 last time we were there, it was Good but for the price i would definitely stick to the 9.
Where are they based?i could always pick a bottle up next time i go and post if you would like Groucho. i'm pretty sure they have an online whisky shop aswell, i guess it just depends what delivery charges they would stick on also.
Its definitely worth a try, English Whisky has come on leaps and bounds in recent years.
South Scotland then.......deepest darkest Norfolk mate, near East Harling. Nice area actually and the distillery is a good half day out
Awaiting the return of my mum from Scotland with assorted goodies......
In the meantime, just had a Glenfiddich 18 yo. Not the greatest fan of Glenfiddich, I prefer the 15yo actually.
I had a 16yo in 2003 but haven't seen it since. Got it in Dundee, it was sublime. The 16yo, not Dundee.
Never been a real fan of theirs.Glenfiddich 15 is much better than 18. Not my favourite malt either.
Got to buy one at the airport ( well you do don't ya, traditional like innit )
Saw a single malt compass similar to the political compass that was floating around on here last year but can't find it again now i need it
don't mind smokey; but not too much seaweedy; like glenmorangie ( the bog standard version ) don't like highland park, a bit bland, budget wise mid range say under 60 quid uk
and for shame I do like the minimum of ice, while Mrs D goes 50-50 whisky soda
( single malt related mind, as I know this is GOT ) so...
suggestions please... and if there is an own brand/ supermarket similar version feel free to throw that in for when the Bro-I-L has swooped on the good stuff

Around that price I'd look no further than Ardbeg Uigeadail, myself, although it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Oban 14 is a superb drop, too.
