Oban is fantastic, second only to Bunnahabhain mate. The whole concept of Single malts is ace. I had whisky training. And there is a lot more involved than I thought.
Oban is also a good malt. Been the distillery.
The fact that scotch is spelt whisky while Irish and bourbon is spelt whiskey is a favourite of mine.
I have had it but it was a while ago. Don't remember being blown away by it.Oban is a lovely whisky. As is Cragganmore, really.
Have you tried Edradour, Groucho? Reminded me of Bunnahabhain a bit.
Oban is boss, like.We had Oban for the first time a few weeks ago. It was great, so easy to drink! My girlfriend's New Year's Resolution was to try different whiskeys, so I was looking for something that wasn't too harsh. Win-win.

I've had one of theirs, but can't remember for the life of me which age/expression.Indeed it is...Yamazaki 18 yr is another me and my mates have been enjoying lately.

Remember it being good though.
It was probably the 12 then lolI've only seen 12 yr and 18 yr here in the States. Both are good. 18 is pricey...$150+ per 750 ML. The 12 is much more reasonable...around $60, and is quite good as well.
