Transfer Window Assessment

I know that's a joke but I wish people would shut up with it. It just annoys me knowing the pot is already dry and it's not even 90 minutes after the window.

Who funds our loan signings next summer... Barkley?

£10m left over.

Mirallas, Baines, Jelavic, Heitinga - all saleable assets. Why are we even talking like this?

If players do well, other clubs will be interested in them.

If the players do well, Everton will have done well, and for me, that's all I want.

There is no hate. Without the Lukaku loan people would be going mad at how we have failed to spend more than half the Fellaini money and used it to spend yet another Wigan player. People are getting caught up in the excitement, which is fair enough, but you couldn't call it an ideal transfer window.

Mate, coach is right we all know the score but it's tilting at windmills railing against our board on a night we've done ok. Yes it is thanking for small mercies but only relegation or threat of will cause rebellion among the troops.

See the possibility mate, via Martinez we're really trying to change, better to give it a lash there will be plenty of time to get stuck in if it al goes tits up.

Chin up mukka.

yays

-Deulofeu, Barry, and Lukaku are not only great loans but high profile loans. While its nice getting good players that nobody knows about its a good change to have landed such big names
-We've still got two international Belgians! Plus we've got the best Ireland, which is pretty cool for fans like me!
- Barry looks like Clark Kent
- We've got money
- Robles looks like real competition for Howard
- Bainsey!

nays
- Barry is on a massive wage and McCarthy was a big fee. Buying wise we weren't the most cost efficient
- the money is being looked after by Kenwright
- Kone has made a terrible first impression

The wigan fans don't seem impressed with mate, but i'm happy we signed him, abit expensive but we got extra off Man u.

As you say the extra money for Fellaini has subsidised the inflated fee. The Wigan fans are a fickle bunch mate, they were raving about him until the summer when it looked like he might leave. Iv always been impressed with him.

Very good window, and to be honest Fellaini has not bossed quite as many games as we would like to believe.

Bottom line is that these players suit Martinez style better then Fellaini.

Kenwright has been accused of being a soft touch in the transfer market but he's played hard-ball here very effectively..

I agree, I think a lot was being made of Moyes inside knowledge of our players, contracts, methods etc however I suspect we underestimated Bills inside knowledge of how Moyes operates, ie dithering, can't make his mind up etc and he's hung him out to dry

Bill could be gambling on the three loanees getting us further up the table and securing a decent chunk of extra tv money, at the expense of some teams who will get to next May and find themselves in money difficulties.

We still have some dead wood in the squad, and we have some ageing players that need replacing... but we HAVEN'T borrowed against next May's tv money and we haven't spent all of Felli's fee. Can't help thinking NEXT summer will be the better window, with less loans and more permanent transfers.

I'm peaking over getting Lukaku for a year, I'd have taken that even when I was harping on about Negredo and Soldado at the beginning of the summer. I'm just not going to ignore the fact that we failed to spend more than half the money we got for Fellaini, or the Kone deal.

Not at all but what happens if he does something similar for us this year then leaves? It all hinges on us having a big positive net spend over the next couple of transfer windows otherwise we're left with Kone and Jelavic as our front pairing.

Then I would say thanks for your 17 goals Romulen, thanks and goodbye, best of luck in your endeavours.

It sounds like your saying you don't want him to do well because then we will miss him? But that can't be right, so I must have misconstrued you.

The fact that Fellaini WANTED to leave, makes a sale of 27.5 mill even more impressive.
We now have, compared to last season, a much more evenly matched squad that can handle all competetitions and a few injuries. And it gives our new manager time to assess the market for permanent solutions.

Howard
Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Gibson McCarthy

Mirallas Barkley Pienaar

Lukaku

2.team

Robles

Hibbert Stones Heitinga Oviedo

Osman Barry

Deulofeu Naismith Gueye

Kone

In the stands:

Jelavic :)
Vellios

In addition, we have 10+ million in the bank.
Imo, our weakest cover is on the flanks, so Ince or McManaman(yes I know he plays for Wigan), would be good backup solutions with great development potential.

Add George Green, Lundstram, Pennington and Long and it doesn't look too bad.
I am sure we will be able to find replacements for Barry, Lukaku and Deulofeu next season, hopefully on the same level.

McCarthy + 14.5 mill OR Fellaini who wants to be elsewhere. Choice is simple....
Anichebe I would have kept, rather sell Jelavic, but 5-6 mill is brilliant business.

Very good window from an EFC point of view!

Edit: If no money is spent in january, I might be inclined to agree with the doubters, but I am sure it will, and would have been if deal for Fellaini had gone through earlier.

PS: Dave's dithering cost him 4 mill extra, effectively cancelling Standards sell on fee from our point of view :) (yes I am childish :D)
