Fellaini

I'd love Fellaini to stay, but I see this as being different than Rooney, Lescott and Arteta in the past.

When we signed the deal with him, and allowed his agent to put in that clause, we lost all control over the situation. Unlike the others named, who may or may not have wanted to go depending on who you believe, if Fellaini goes this time, it will be because he wants to go. Just because someone activates the clause doesn't mean he automatically goes. It's likely, but it will be Fellaini's decision.

Maybe in future we should not agree to the insertion of these clauses at all, it should be club policy, but if you recall when Fellaini signed his new contract in November 2011, we were 16th in the league at the time, on a terrible run of form, morale was low, and Everton were desperate to ward off interest, hence they agreed to Fellaini's agents' terms.

yeah there is a possibility he will go, but it is just a possibility, and as you say, he has to want to go and who knows exactly what the clause says. I just think that prob a lot of players have similar clauses and it doesn't lead to half the supporters trying to offload them when the player says they are happy and they seem invaluable to the squad. part of the reason we are competing for champs league is how well the players know each other and how well they play together. so just be nice to hear those who want to sell come up with more than ' we can get a couple of quality players in'. quality players are more likely to come to a team holding onto a quality stable side.

You´re not wrong about their footballing misfortunes in recent seasons but they´ve paid of that Stadium now and will get richer every year. I imagine they´ll outspend Spurs by a big margin over the next five years.

Hasn't a large part of their recent income come from selling the flats that were built on the land where Highbury used to be? My understanding was that their income would now fall, regardless of the stadium being paid off and that was the reason behind Wegner's comparatively small spend.

Im dreading who martinez signs tbh im terrified of seeing some of the ****e teams like sunderland, stoke, fulham, wigan etc. spend when they have money being brought here, Moyes had his faults but 1 or 2 aside you had faith in him buying good players

Martinez isnt an idiot you know lad. Has a worldwide knowledge of the game. Everton will also attract much better players than Wigan as well, simple.

I just think you lads are getting way ahead of yourselves Martinez is untried at a club of our size and just got his side relegated, I think the reality of his abilities will hit you guys hard next season

stinks of the RS hyping rodgers up over his links to mourinho

If he is sold, I am not sure that spending the money on a replacement for him is a good idea at all. Fer, a striker, and a centre back to replace Distin and Heitinga would be better, with Barkley being told this is his chance.

Whats that got to do with transfers? Fact is, he'll be able to attract better players here than he was able to at Wigan. That was your original point which i replied to was it not?

yes but we havent a clue how good he is at bringing players in, he might bring in 2 veron's for all we know we just dont know, but people convincing themselves's he's gonna take us to the next level are too "martinez know's his stuff will sign us 2 boss players and we will play like barca" etc. Im just worried as we havent a clue of how well he will do compared to moyes or a manager already at a club the same sort of size as ourselves

Anything over £30million and I'd be all

As i said, he's not an idiot, he'd also have our scouts here, Moyes is only taking his head scout.

just our luck I guarantee our head scout was boss, wigan's on the other hand I have my doubts, sunderland have apparantly taken on inter milan's head scout just shows how lacking of ambition we are

I think you're massively over-negative in regards to Martinez. He's a lot better than Rodgers; it was Martinez who started the Swansea revolution and their climb up the leagues with HIS style of play. He worked miracles keeping Wigan up as long as he did, and no matter how much people knock him, he still won a major trophy which Rodgers hasn't. He also unearthed many bargains in the transfer market for Wigan, which he later sold on for substantial profit, so I'm really not sure why you are fearing him in the transfer market. He's proven himself to be a good operator overall.
