I don't want any friggin' billionaire to buy us. I want us to be Everton, that's all. We are British owned and came top of the non foreign investment group of clubs last season. Crap start to the season agreed but surely a reality check is required, we are not in crisis.
Personally I don't want my club to be owned by a Yank, Indian or any other nationality. I just can't understand the logic this season with everyone expecting a billionaire owner to step in. Marketing by the FA is one thing, they have their own agenda to sell the league to world tv but surely there aren't 20 billionaires out there prepared to pay a bunch of prima donnas [Poor language removed] loads of money for average football. How long would that last when there is only one winner each season.
Time will tell with Chelsea and City, it could go wrong so fast for them if the owners pull out.

Am I in the minority? I suport Bill and everything he stands for in the modern game.

Im sorry but the only way forward is a rich sugar daddy or at least somebody that has some money to invest, Kenwright is skint and for all his faults hes a fan and even he has come out and said we need a billionare, would be lovely if another Evertonian could come and take charge, but thats very unlikely.

Coming from some one who lives in North Africa.......

WFT are you on about.

Why not have a British squad as well then, in fact a scouse squad.

Mate them days are gone. We need heavy investment, like yesterday. We need a big rich sugar daddy or we will never compete. City just raised the steaks an if we dont try an match them........

Were [Poor language removed]!!

A new owner is needed to invest in th "club" my hope would be that that investment would make the club self sustaining i dont think the reliance on one person is neecessarily a positive thing.

It doesn't bother me what nationality the Chairman is, I just want to be able to compete with other teams. Even with a reasonable budget Moyes would do well.

I understand where your coming from and I too would like a return to the old days more of how football used to be, but as has been pointed out already, those days are long gone.

Without huge investment in the club, Everton will slowly, maybe even quickly at this rate, decline and there is virtually no doubt we will drop out of this leauge at some point. There is so much money involved in the premiership these days that all its clubs are attracting very rich owners as there is so much money to be made as well as glamour, if we dont join them then we wont stay around to play football with them for much longer.

We certainly need a cash injection. According to the excerpt below, we overspent considerably last year and have taken out further loans.

Everton's need is pressing. The board was forced to guarantee debts on a 12-month trading deficit of up to £10m after the club overspent by more than £13m last year. In the past 12 months they have mortgaged yet more of their future with two loans from the boutique Edinburgh bank Adam & Company. But Kenwright admits that the foul financial winds buffeting the markets have hit his club's credit lines. "We know what's going on at the moment in the world, the banks are tighter than they've ever been," he said.

We always seem to borrow of future earnings and increase our debt level, its so worrying for the future. Its only a large cash injection that will allow us to plug the holes and stop the borrowing against huge interest rates. Either that, or not buy anyone for years to allow our profit to build up.

In an ideal world, id go along with that. However, the problem is that with Kenwright, we can never achieve more than mid-table mediocrity and the 4th and 5th place finishes we have achieved in previous years will be more and more difficult to attain. Im afraid that money talks in football more than ever and with the amount of other Prem clubs being snapped up by billionaires, if we dont do the same then we can forget competing for honours

Expat Scouser, working abroad in the oil industry. What's the problem with that.

Nothing what so ever mate. I got that you were a scouser living abroad. Thats why im suprised at what you put. Your a Foreigner living in another country. Yet you don't want one owning are club. Even if he is one of the richest people on the planet!!

Oh well, every one to their own!!

We're part owned by foreigners now: Robert Earl, American resident and passport holder who owns over a third of EFC via his holdng company based in the Cayman Islands.
