RS support

I sat near them today in the Bullens and yet again, there was a number in amongst the home support. Surely its not time for our club to tighten up and make sure this doesnt happen again. It almost kicked off big time and the police had to keep rival supporters apart. Next to me, a kid wasnt in tears but you could tell he was shaken by the experience.

A fella next to me told me that yesterday, Everton had made the remaining tickets available on general sale and this probably accounts for some of their support getting in. Id rather we make a loss on a few tickets than see a number of them in amongst our supprt. Its not sour grapes, but it very nearly kicked off today and unless the club act, it could easily go further in future fixtures

If we cant sell out for this fixture though
why shouldnt reds be allowed them

Every everton fan should have been snapping for a ticket as soon as they were printed if they wanted it.

There away support on the whole was poor though
until the goals they were virtually silent

I really didnt care much about the RD fans - until they sang youll never walk alone. Then i just left.

Im not surprised we didnt sell out, the way we have played...and i dont mind RS fans sitting in our stands, as long as they are the type of people who talk about the match in an honest way, rather than being a ****. There was a couple by me with their everton mates, and they were having a decent conversation about the match, Fair play

Unless tickets are made non-transferrable that's always going to happen.

theyve been on general sale so nothing to stop them buying them, they kicked a guy out in the paddock near the gwladys street, think he'd just celebrated their goal tbh, everyone kicked a stink up saying get him out etc so they binned him.
the ground regulations state its for home supporters so on that alone they can be turfed out, some others in lower bullens didnt get ejected though. in all the times i've been to their place i've only been in the away end once, with the way it is these days though i'm not sure if i'd go in a home section now.

How can we complain if they buy tickets that our fans decided not to buy?

As for celebrating when they scored, why not?

I've done the same, most memorably at Chelsea last year when Cahill scored.

Dont know how you got away with that one mate. I was at Chelski a few seasons back when we got beat 3 0 and cars got sent off. I was sitting with the home fans because I was with my mate who supported Chelski. I remember when, I think it was Cahill who almost scored and I half got up and kinda let out a lil whimper and the looks I was gettin from everyone- thought they were about to jump on me! And this was in there family enclosure. Thank god we didnt score!

I was on the kop in 64 when we won 4-0 and apart from the odd remark they were fine with me and my mate ,but as you say times have changed and not for the better,my next door neighbour called my over the garden fence to wish us luck with a smile hes a red but not the modern type have avoided him since I got home

tbh it was just everyone being a bit arsey cos they scored, i'm sure theyd have been happy for him to stay there if we were winning and they could give him stick. i got the same sort of "kick him out" "make him sit down" and worse in the Kemlyn and the people around me who were season ticket holders (i was using a rs mates) gave it to him and complained to the stewards about him.
a rs mate of mine was gonna get a ticket with me and i have to say he'd have happily took the comments directed at him all day, but in return he would expect to be able to jump up if they scored,
i'm not into the aggression and the childishness of kick him out and all that, you'll find that any in our end would be fully expecting a barrage of abuse throughout the game, so they are coming in good spirits really, they obviously dont take the comments seriously which i think is something thats been lost as the derby has taken an aggressive turn over the years, as was stated in the thread started on the rs site by the rs who came on here, a whole generation now only know hatred at the derby so the p1ss taking isnt just a laugh anymore.

Yes mate - that is exactly how it should be !

My fear is the turmoil we are having to endure both on and off the field is having a fairly adverse effect on our fan base.

We are a club divided:-

Kirkby

Kenwright

Moyes

Players

etc..................

This is creating a bitterness that is changing the feel of things at Goodison - which is obviously now emanating into the fans reactions and in this case reaction to opposition supporters.

In years gone by it would have not mattered what was happening on the pitch - the banter would have been class - the guy in the wrong end would have been free to celebrate - but he would have been put down by banter whatever the score - no need for intervention from the plod or stewards and no need for it to kick off !

Billy, I concur with that. It was a laugh back in the 80s. There was a bit of mocking going on, the odd outburst but almost always in good humour. The derbies that I went to at Goodison back then had blues and reds standing side by side and virtually nobody crossed the line because if he had, he would have been jumped on by both sets of supporters.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the arrogant RS gets, but I'd be happy to have the old banter back again. It made the game more special and less like a [Poor language removed] war! And it shouldn't be a war because it is a game of football.

Anyone hear the RS fans singing "1-0 to the Murderers"? That is low.
