Who is peanuts?

I hope your sincerely joking, or i am sending the men in white coats for you.

Howard

Neville Jag Yobo Lescott

Arteta Felliani Castillo Pienaar

Cahill

Yak

Thats the best team that Moyes will play but ideally i would drop Jag, Neville and Howard and replace them with better models

Peanuts is Pienaar

If iv said it once iv said it a million times. It's not about a starting 11, it's about the squad. We need different players for different situations. Like for instance.....'

Against stoke we needed all the big strong lads out their to battle an win headers. But against more of a playing side the little lads will do a better job.

I still don't get why people leave ossie out of the team. One of the first names on the sheet for me.

I can't see how people can put Fellaini AND Castillo in our strongest 11 yet? To include both in a midfield 4 would mean dropping Leon Osman:huh:(if we pick Pienaar & Arteta)

I personally need to see much more of our new signings before I decide that they are better players than Osman who is a good players that gives his all!

I hope that Fellaini and Castillo prove to be great players for us but I won't assume that they will be just because they cost a lot or are valued highly!

osman would always be one of the first names on the team-sheet for me, when we're able to put a decent side out he seems the one to make it all work.

Howard in goal

Neville RB
Baines LB
Yobo & Lescott CB

Fellaini DM
Arteta RM
Pienaar LM
Osman & Cahill AM

Yakubu up front

I think that's our strongest 11 by far

Absolutely spot on mate.
I have got my crash helmet handy due to that which I am about to say. I would not have Jagielka anywhere near the squad let alone the team. His distribution is appalling. He constantly lashes the ball anywhere. He makes Neville look good.
Before anybody chimes in to tell me about his England call up were the regular England centre backs available ?

So is Yobo's and Lescott's at CB.

Super Leon isnt in the best midfield 5 now though TB, not a reflection on him more a reflection on how the team has progressed

So you're saying Castillo and Fellaini have proven themselves above Osman?

Hard to accept to me...

I'd say he's a must for me. He can play across every position in the midfield and he has an eye for goals.

Cahill is the most doubtfull to me, really. He's not creative enough to play in the hole, but he has that knack for vital goals. With Osman and Arteta, we can put a trio behind a striker. And those three complement themselves very well. Arteta has the ability and the vision and he would be the obvious choice to me for that place, Osman is great off the ball and Cahill can behave like the second striker on the ball and as the third CM without the ball.

I think this skinny lad is a gem.

I disagree to be honest, his quality, work rate and consistency over the past year or so speaks for itself.

I think the game against Stoke showed that you need a creative midfielder in the middle of the park and someone who offers attacking qualities.

Castillo and Fellaini retained possession well but we weren't going anywhere, we had no one who could work some magic and open things up.

I'm not saying Osman is a superb playmaker but he does make things happen, he gets goals, he's a good intelligent passer, he's two footed and he's got excellent technique. His strengths by far outweigh his weaknesses and for combination and balance I'd rather have him alongside one of Castillo or Fellaini.

Cahill proved on sunday why he should be 1 of the 1st names on the sheet. He is a born winner and somebody we have badly missed while he has been injured. He also has the great knack of popping up with winners when we need it most.

I disagree about Jagielka, I think he's a very good centre back. He's not perfect but I see a lot of Stubbs & Carragher <shudders> in him, he's got a habit of being able to throw himself into a late tackle/block at the right time. Other centre backs deal with the danger before a last ditch challenge is required but the fact that he can do that so well covers up for that so while I feel Yobo & Lescott are better than him, I'm confident of him coming into the team & doing a good job whenever needed

Agreed, I like Osman a lot. Since he was moved into the centre he's been a new player, he retains the ball a hell of a lot more & does a lot with it. His 1st touch is absolutely brilliant & his runs at the heart of defences are excellent at times, at West Brom his runs through the middle (after Vaughan came on to make the difference) really helped put them under the cosh & helped us win a game that we never looked like winning.

He's not the best defensively so while he's always willing to put a shift (& is fearless when it comes to throwing himself in front of a shot), it's just not his strength so stick a good defensive midfielder behind him & give him the licence to burst forward & he can win games for us

Jag is a very limited player who gives his all. Very much in the frame of unsworth. Decent squad player but ideally should never be in the 1st 11

Im serious about Neville he was one of the telling factors of our win on Sun, much of the stick is unfair, that said hes a brutal midfeilder. He never exactly comes out and says i want to play centre midfield he does the job hes asked to do which is admirable, he is an absolutely high quality full back though.

My team would be:

-------------Howard

Neville----Yobo----Jags------Lescott

-------------Castillo----------

Arteta-------Fellini-----------Pienarr

-------------Cahill------------------

--------------Yak------------------

Subs:
Baines
Hibbo
Osman
Vaughan
Rodwell
Nash
Saha

Now thats not a bad looking squad is it?

One worry would be Lecott playing at Left back is it really a good thing having all our CB playing hopefully 60 games a season i can see Baines coming into a rotation system with Jo playing against the Stokes, Pompeys and Leiges.

Ossie and Fellini it hink will rotate i think we wont see the best of Fellini for a full season.

if Saha can styay fit its a straight battle for the lone striker role, having said that i like the flexibility of reverting to a 4-4-2 or even a 4-3-3 with Vic proving so good on the right on Sun. If we had gotten that Obina Lad we would be laughing right now, who knows maybe Jan. Who said we needed 7 players!
