We indeed had the luck of the draw this season (or at least so on paper). We don't get any of the top 4 or one of our rivals in the opening weeks. Not every player needs time to adapt though and settle in, some players do but not all. Mbia's game is made for English football and a player off Moutinho's quality will be fine.
Out of all the signings I expect only two to go into the first team. The rest will probably be squad players or players on the fringes of the first team. I don't think it will be hard to bed one or two players into the team. We have about 8/9 players who are already settled and ready to go.
Luckily for us we don't have any big challenges in the first few games. No big teams who are going to give us a spanking, our games are winnable.
Indeed, i also think arsenal will struggle a bit this season so who knows, spurs finish 3rd, we finish 4th, arsenal 5th and rs 6th. My my my how nice would that be, give a real shake up to the league for the next few seasons with all the changing of money due to champions league as well which would be ggrrrrrrreatI think Spurs could do better than the [Poor language removed] this season.
Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants for Keane?![]()

Think (or more like hope) we'll sign 4 class players and maybe a couple of squadfillers. Don't think any signing will be a definate starter under Moyes (Maybe with the exception of Moutinho if he signs). We do need a strong squad not only a strong first 11.
Don't think Moyes is thinking along the way, well that's my first eleven, but it's up to every single player to prove he's worthy of a starting place. As you said, we do have a settled squad and that's one of our biggest strenghts I believe.
I was talking to a Villa fan today and according to him their fans are confident of at least a fifth spot finish but if Barry stays there they think fourth is realisticHe'll hardly play though, he'll sit his arse on the bench until Villa have an injury crisis. From now on all he'll be is a squad player, O'Neill said he only wanted players who actually wanted to play for the club.
Quality midfield? I wouldn't go that far. At the moment it will probably be Young, Reo-coker, Sidwell and Petrov. That's not quality to me, lacks creativity in the middle of the park and they don't have a right winger. Young is good but last season he had someone like Barry getting him into good positions where he could run at teams, Sidwell and Coker aren't capable of that.

the RS to villa "carson, 10 mill"
villa to the RS "no [Poor language removed] way"
the RS to villa "we want barry"
villa to the RS "barry, 18 mill"
its not often karma acts so swiftly, but when it does, its probably the best karma in the world.
The Barry saga has been pretty hilarious. And yeah, if such a thing as "karma" existed (which it doesn't), then this would be a great and beautiful example of it.I'd be surprised if Villa finished fourth, mate. They've got a great manager in MON but the overall squad is poorer than ours and Spurs. Oh, and Barry is a pretty decent footballer, but I don't think he's world class, and certainly don't believe he's worth £18m.
The difference between us and the rest is this:
Spurs: House isnt in order, to much chopping and changeing, consistencey.
Pompey: Good first team, but frankly, the players are there for the money not to play for a big club, lack of youth coming through. Paper club!
Villa: I actually worry about Villa, i think they are a few years behind us in terms of development, but some really good players and their consistency last season was impressive woth some great results aganst the top three, i think O Neill will pull of a few good signing for big money before the window closes! i tink they will challenge us tis year but again i think we will have to much.
Newcastle: Lol
Man City: Get ready for the fire sale!
I actually can see us pushing for the top four this season. There was nothing between us and the [Poor language removed] last season, the only difference was poor ref decisons.
